PHAEUROPE is thrilled to announce Zdenka Bradač as our new President! 🎉 Zdenka, who previously served as Vice President, succeeds the remarkable Eva Otter, whose tireless contributions have left a lasting impact. Eva will continue her invaluable work as our Patient Advocate, while Zdenka steps into her new role with passion and determination to continue driving change for the PH community. Zdenka, a lifelong PH fighter diagnosed at age 7, has been a relentless advocate for patients. As the founder of Croatia’s Blue Wings PH Association (Plava Krila), she successfully led efforts to secure free medication for PH patients nationwide and built impactful partnerships with medical and rare disease organizations. Her personal journey and unwavering dedication inspire hope and progress for the entire PH community. 💙 Together, we’ll continue the fight for awareness, support, and better outcomes for PH patients across Europe. #goodPHnews from Croatia 👏🙌💪 "Blue Wings for Blue Heroes" – A Step Forward for Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness With the co-financing of Zagreb County, the project Blue Wings for Blue Heroes was successfully implemented. As part of the initiative, Dr. Feđa Džubur discussed pulmonary hypertension (PH) and the critical role of lung transplantation in treatment. He provided valuable insights into the challenges faced by PH patients, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and the life-changing impact of transplantation. His perspective highlighted the need for greater awareness and support for those living with this rare condition. He emphasized that Croatia has all the treatments available in the European Union and that the goal is to make PH a condition similar to arterial hypertension, where patients can live a relatively normal life and manage their symptoms. The event offered those affected, relatives, and interested parties an excellent opportunity to find out about the latest scientific developments and practical aspects of the disease. An informative and exciting day began with insights into the world of pulmonary hypertension, planned or ongoing studies, and the use of oxygen. We were pleased about a well-attended event with around 65 participants. The outstanding speakers included Univ. Prof. Dr. Irene Lang, Univ. Prof. Dr. Nika Skoro-Sajer, both from the AKH Vienna, and Helmuth Täubl from Tirol Kliniken GmbH.
