🌍🔋 The GREENOVET project has come to an end, but its impact is just beginning! As this transformative initiative concludes, it leaves behind a solid foundation for a greener and more innovative Europe. Through the network of Centres of Vocational Excellence established across four European regions, professionals and companies are now better equipped to tackle sustainability challenges. The journey continues for each student, teacher, and partner who participated, carrying forward the knowledge, connections, and green innovation that will drive future change. A sustainable future with green innovation is more than a statement – it's a commitment we keep alive in every initiative going forward. 🚀🌱

🌬️💡 The WindFloat Atlantic wind farm by Ocean Winds, off the coast of Viana do Castelo, Portugal, has generated 320 GWh of clean energy in just 4 years, powering over 25,000 homes per year!🌊🌱 This innovative project, with three floating platforms, is transforming the future of renewable energy, exceeding all expectations!⚡ So far, it has avoided more than 33,000 tons of CO2 emissions and created 1,500 jobs! Additionally, the wind farm has minimal impact on the seabed, helping biodiversity to thrive! Europe is grappling with major issues: loss of biodiversity, environmental degradation, and climate change impacts. Although there have been advances, such as reduced pollution and improved land management, significant challenges remain. 75% of European ecosystems are exposed to excessive nitrogen levels, and pollution is responsible for over 10% of annual premature deaths in the EU. ⚠️ Despite progress in resource efficiency and the circular economy, the current pace is insufficient to meet the 2030 and 2050 climate targets. The European Green Deal commits Europe to becoming carbon-neutral by 2050, requiring a deep transformation in production, consumption, and urbanization. 🚀 Action Needed: We must accelerate progress and strengthen nature’s resilience to tackle climate challenges and ensure a sustainable future. With temperatures rising 2.3°C above pre-industrial levels—nearly double the global average—our icy regions are in serious trouble. 🧊🌡 ⚠️ Switzerland has lost 10% of its glacial ice in just two years, and a third since 2000. Glaciers in Austria, Italy, and the Dolomites are also at risk. 🌍 Half of the world’s glaciers could disappear by century’s end, even if we limit warming to 1.5°C.
