What can hosts use this grant for? 💰 💎 Event space 💎 Guest speaker fees 💎 Swag like stickers, shirts, or books 💎 Food & (non-alcoholic) drinks 💎 Tech equipment (microphones, projectors, etc.) 💎 Parking vouchers And more... If you're a Ruby event host or want to host your first meetup, apply today! 💫 1) Fill out the form. 2) Tell us about your meetup and how you'll use the funds. 3) Applications will be reviewed in Dec and grants awarded in Jan 2025. We know the challenges that volunteers face running these events. This grant is our way of saying THANK YOU and giving back. ❤️ Austin Spires from Fastly shares why this new program is so important: "The Ruby community has been instrumental in my personal journey. When exploring my career after college, I went to a Ruby meetup -- the supportive nature of the Ruby community fast-tracked my skill development and led to a position with a local startup. Today, I oversee Fastly’s community and open source investments, and I’m delighted to help 'return the favor' by supporting Ruby Central’s meetup network and other open source ecosystems." If you're not an organizer but attend a local meetup, share this post with the hosts to take your Ruby community to the next level! 🤩

  • Cybergizer has decided to join Baltic Ruby 2025 as a key partner and sponsor — again. We were part of it in 2024 and will continue supporting such initiatives because we know how hard it is to get them off the ground. Over the years, we’ve sponsored the Warsaw Ruby Community Conference, Wroclove.rb, Haggis Ruby, Ruby Unconf, and many other local events. Local means good. Local often goes unnoticed, which is why they need support. If you have the opportunity to support Baltic Ruby or any other local Ruby event, just do it. The community will greatly appreciate it.

Looking for sponsors! Help us share! Preparations are underway, our first keynote is confirmed, dates are set. We’re ready to share about past successes and plans for the upcoming event. Help us make it happen! Proposal: https://lnkd.in/dFC3XQQX #ruby #conference #sponsor

    • Lettering "Sponsors" and eyes emoji on a branded background.
  • What an incredible opportunity this was! First, to organize the conference itself, second, to make every effort to bring Yukihiro Matsumoto to Baltic Ruby, and finally, to conduct this interview! We managed to talk for an entire hour about everything and anything. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. This video is for you. Watch the full version on the Baltic Ruby YouTube channel!

  • They say that those starting their careers today are in a more vulnerable position. They say juniors are not needed in such a market. They say juniors can easily be replaced by a chatbot. And maybe all of this is at least partially true. But in reality, it means companies need to invest even more in their support, contribute even more to the community, and invest in the future of Ruby. Cybergizer joined Vilnius Ruby Brigade junior meetup at VILNIUS TECH - Vilnius Gediminas Technical University to tell about opportunities that we have created in our internal ecosystem and contribution to the local communities. Hopefully, this will become at least a good start.
