📢 📓Publication Announcement: Neuroergonomic Workcell We are pleased to share that our a novel concept of a neuroergonomic workcell aimed at enhancing worker well-being and productivity as a pivotal point for new #Industry5.0 has been published in the prestigious IEEE RAM journal. The study outlines the essential components of such workcells, including psychological and physical assessment, as well as non-physical, physical, and strategic support mechanisms. To validate this concept, a proof-of-concept neuroergonomic human-centered workstation was demonstrated in a real factory setting, focusing on the task of industrial assembly. You can explore the full study here: https://lnkd.in/deJR8Rtf And supplementary video material that demonstrate the concept here: https://lnkd.in/dY9bjDRN This research received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under Grant 873087 #SHOP4CF (Smart Human Oriented Platform for Connected Factories), within the BrainWatch experiment. The presented concept provides valuable insights into improving workplace ergonomics and efficiency, marking a step forward in applying neuroergonomics in industrial environments across Danube region within our ongoing actions in BrAIn | Interreg Danube Region Programme project. We are looking forward to seeing the next steps and further advancement on human-centric industry by the paper authors: Nikola Knežević, Andrej Savic, Завиша Гордић Zavisa Gordic, Arash Ajoudani, and Kosta Jovanovic!

🌍🤖A Look Back at Humanoids 2024 📄 From November 22 to 24, the IEEE RAS HUMANOIDS Conference brought together global leaders in humanoid robotics in Nancy, France. This premier event showcased cutting-edge advancements in robot design, control, perception, learning, and human-robot interaction, alongside workshops, tutorials, industrial exhibitions, and robotics competitions. The conference was an incredible opportunity to reconnect with colleagues from LAAS-CNRS, Inria Paris, Inria Bordeaux, Inria Montpellier and other leading institutions while building new collaborations and exploring the latest technologies from innovators like Booster Robotics, DLR, Ghost Robotics, IIT, PAL Robotics, Unitree, and Wandercraft. Our colleague Filip Bečanović contributed to this inspiring event by presenting a poster on his novel work in inverse optimal control (IOC) - "Reliability of Single-Level Equality-Constrained Inverse Optimal Control". Filip used a single-level reformulation of the traditional bilevel IOC method to enhance computational efficiency. This approach achieved a 15-fold reduction in computation time while retaining robustness to noise, enabling learning from human demonstrations of complex motions. This work has the potential to revolutionize how humanoid robots analyze and replicate human behaviors, moving the field closer to seamless human-robot collaboration. We are grateful to continues collaboration with our colleague Vincent Bonnet and support of Campus France for providing constant support to our promising researchers. We’re proud of Filip’s contributions and look forward to seeing the impact of his work on the robotics community! #ETFRobotics #Humanoids2024 #Robotics #InverseOptimalControl #HumanRobotInteraction #AI #Innovation #Research

On May 1st, our ETFRobotics team embarked on an exciting journey with the launch of the #AIFitnessAssistant project, supported by the Fond za nauku Republike Srbije - Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia under the "Proof of Concept" call. This project is designed to revolutionize the fitness and sports industries by integrating advanced AI-driven motion analysis to improve workout effectiveness and safety. The project is coordinated by our doctoral researcher Milos Petrovic, whose PhD research area on AI human-robot interaction aligns with AI aspects of the project, while perfectly matching his personal interests—a factor that provides additional motivation to realize the project’s full potential. Unlike traditional pose estimation systems, AIFitnessAssistant goes a step further—analyzing video data to estimate which specific muscles are activated during various exercises, all without the need for wearable devices. Using affordable RGB cameras or smartphones and state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, this solution offers: ✔️ Insights into muscle engagement for better performance ✔️ Statistical analysis (analytics) of workout routines ✔️ Guidance to refine workout routines With the fitness and sports markets experiencing unprecedented growth, AIFitnessAssistant addresses the critical need for accessible and effective tools to monitor and improve exercise execution. We are proud to lead this innovative project and look forward to empowering individuals and professionals in their fitness journeys. Stay tuned for updates as we progress! #ETFRobotics #AIFitnessAssistant #ArtificialIntelligence #MotionAnalysis #Innovation #FitnessTech #SportsScience #first6months #FondZaNauku #ProofofConcept
