💥 The 5th RESIST Project Consortium Meeting is wrap! 💥 This week, we were thrilled to gather in Plasencia (Extremadura, #Spain) with our #RESIST partners from all across 12 project regions. Over the course of 3 productive days, we: ✅  Provided an overview of the activities carried out by #LSD3 Catalonia since June and outlined our strategic plans for the next six months. ✅  Showcased transformative solutions being developed and implemented in Catalonia, including: 🔹 Multi-Hazard Early Warning tools 🔹 Citizen Participatory Toolkit - Citizen Dialogues. ✅  Engaged in in-depth discussions on the Transfer Plan fromCatalonia to our twining regions, Puglia and Baixo Alentejo. 🌟 Meet DRAXIS Environmental S.A., a key partner in the GOBEYOND project! 🌟 DRAXIS focuses on developing 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 and providing specialized #environmental consultation services. By combining remote sensing technologies, complex algorithms, GIS, and other datasets, DRAXIS builds multifunctional web-based information systems, mobile applications, crowdsourcing platforms, and workflow-based digital services. 👋 From Barcelona Supercomputing Center! This week, as coordinators of GOBEYOND project as sister project of MedEWSa project, #CRAHI - Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) was invited to attend the #MedEWSa General Assembly hosted by the #BSC in Barcelona. Our senior researcher Dr. Erika R. Meléndez Landaverde delivered a presentation of the project, which aims at developing and testing Multi-Risk Impact-based #EarlyWarningSystem platforms for geohazards and weather/climate events, in order to support civil protection authorities and first responders in their situational awareness and rapid deployment, in #Europe and in countries of the Union for the Mediterranean. It was an opportunity to start exploring potential synergies to revolutionize disaster risk management and build a more #resilient future.

Va analitzar i compartir reflexions sobre la gota freda amb Sergio Delgado, subdirector de Protecció Civil a Catalunya, i Javier Martín Vide, catedràtic de Geografia i especialista en pluges i inundacions al Mediterrani. 💬 "Estem davant d'un episodi extraordinari la freqüència del qual malauradament augmentarà". 💬 "Hem de ser capaços d'anar de la previsió meteorològica a la previsió d'impactes". 💬 "La gestió de l'emergència que hem tingut a València és del segle passat, amb uns mitjans que hi són però que encara no estan integrats en la forma d'actuar". 💬 "És clar que no hem d'abandonar la #mitigació i la transició cap a combustibles fòssils. 💥 Event news! 💥 We are thrilled to share that the #EDERA project was invited to deliver an oral presentation at the 19th edition of the European Flood Awareness System (EFAS) Annual Meeting! This event took place on October 24-25 in Norrköping, Sweden, hosted by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute. 📅 On Day 1, October 24th, our Director of Research and project coordinator, Marc Berenguer, delivered a presentation that showcased the innovative products developed for integration into the #EFAS platform. He also highlighted the project's preliminary results, offering a glimpse into our progress. The EDERA project continues to make strides in: 🔹 Integrating forecasts of the impacts of storms and heavy rainfall into the operational Early Warning Systems of national, regional, and local Civil Protection Authorities. 🔹 Demonstrating and evaluating the added value of these impact forecasts through a robust assessment process with end-users.
