This significant investment highlights the rising value and potential of women's football. The $58 million price tag is a dramatic increase in valuation of the team. OL Groupe bought the Reign for about $3.5 million in late 2019. The Sounders, alongside Carlyle, aim to propel Seattle Reign to new heights, building on the solid foundation set by former owners OL Groupe. Women's soccer is about to reach new heights with the launch of the Northern Super League in April 2025! 🤩 Diana Matheson, CEO and Co-Founder of Project 8 Sports Inc., proudly revealed the official name for Canada’s first professional women’s soccer league. 📣 "We are thrilled to announce this update to soccer fans across Canada as we take a big step toward our season opener in April 2025," said Matheson.   • 🎉 Exciting News in Women’s Football! 🌟 1️⃣ BWSL Record-Breaking TV Viewership in 2024! 📺 As the Barclays Women’s Super League (BWSL) draws to a close, the Women's Sport Trust reveals a stunning surge in TV viewership for women’s sports in the UK. From January to April 2024, a record 20.9 million people tuned in, surpassing last year’s figures. Notably, 6.8 million were new viewers, driven by increased coverage on Pay TV channels like Sky Sports and Free-To-Air channels like BBC One and ITV 1. ⚽ Regarding Women´s Football: -The Manchester Derby (Man City vs Man Utd) saw a 7% increase in viewership compared to last year’s biggest game. -Viewers of BWSL matches on BBC One rose by 22% year-on-year, with Sky’s simulcasting strategy further boosting viewership by 5%. -The FA Cup also saw a 10% increase in viewers, with the final’s initial viewing figures showing a 3% rise, reaching 1.194 million people.
