I work in the museum field and one of the ways we measure impact is visitation, both for our tours and special events. It isn't just a numbers game however. Sure, large turnouts are great, but we don't always rely on the same programs for our tours and events year after year. For example, for our Christmas events, we've had living history tours, Victorian era carolers, family crafts, and self-guided tours For our tour offerings, we also have themed tours, not just regular tours of our two historic houses. This may include a program such as behind the scenes, places visitors don't normally see. By annually tweaking our offerings each year, we hope to attract more visitors by not doing the same thing for every event.

Explore and learn what already exists, explore barriers with CBOs, community leaders, collaborate with existing CBO's, provide resources and staffing to existing CBO's and collaboratively determine what measures to track, how to layer outreach on already existing activities. Monitor and be nimble to pivot.
