The next two weeks are prime time for coffee chats ☕✨. People are wrapping up the year, feeling more relaxed, and often in the mood to give back or help others. Use this time to network, learn, and build connections 🤝. Plant those seeds now 🌱 and watch them grow in the new year 🌟!

Networking is about building genuine relationships, not just asking for jobs. Start by identifying key people in your industry and engaging authentically: comment on LinkedIn posts, share insights, or congratulate them on achievements. Attend industry events and prepare a concise, impactful introduction about yourself. Always offer value—help connect others or share resources. Remember, networking is a marathon, not a sprint. Consistent, meaningful connections will open doors over time... And most of all, attitude!!!

Often people decide they dislike networking because they think of events where they feel uncomfortable and left out of the conversation. Networking isn’t how many people you know, it’s the quality of relationships you have. People help people they feel a connection with. This is why introverts are much better at networking, they don’t collect cards they get to know people. You probably have the connections you need in your network already (or your connections know the person you need) - they just don’t know that you need help or what you want help with specifically. The best networking is a coffee - real or virtual - and really getting to know someone. Have a mindset for giving and curiosity about them then it’s much easier.
-
The core is to understand, that networking is not that much of a skill as it is a state of mind. A couple of things that can help you on the way: 1. Be visible, share your expertise and knowledge in a generous and helpful for other people manner. 2. Ask people with whom you have good relationships to introduce you to people you don’t know but are interested in. 3. Connect great people from your network with each other in case of relevance. 4. Be intentional and strategic, but not needy. Define your key target audience for networking and think, how you can bring value to them.

First of all I would suggest the client to keep his/her linked in profile up-to-date with relevant information and, be active and present himself/herself conveniently. Secondly, follow up industry specific events/activities (in person or online) and participate. After these activities remind yourself in a proper way. Always be in touch one way or another with your connections

If my client feels lost in networking for job opportunities, they should go back and look at the step-by-step process I shared with them (including a script of the exact ?s to ask if they aren't comfortable yet).

Networking is ab effective job search strategy if done right. I normally advise my clients that will be effective and rewarding if only your network is aware of your professional capabilities and that you are looking for new opportunities. Either offline or online networking, Network will refer you when they are confident of your skills. For offline networking, we leverage professional networks e.g colleagues, career mates and local events networking. Reach out to them and ask for openings. Establish strong LinkedIn profile and share with your offline and online network as you as them for opportunities.
