Es muy importante comunicar de manera adecuada las ventajas de los cambios de zonificación a los vecinos, demostrando que serán mayores los beneficios a las afectaciones. Es muy común que las personas se opongan a los cambios, sobre todo cuando perciben que van a afectar su calidad de vida o el valor de su propiedad. Para lidiar contra eso, es recomendable llevar la discusión a puntos en los que los argumentos personales queden expuestos, poniendo en evidencia la debilidad del sustento. Por ejemplo, a todos nos gusta ver verde, pero no por ello podemos determinar que nuestro vecino no pueda construir en su terreno. El bien común siempre debe primar sobre el bien individual, y eso debe poder llevarse a la discusión de la zonificación.
