🏅 OceanWings is honoured to announce the receipt of Approval in Principle (AIP) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), for its Wind Assisted Propulsion System (WAPS). The approval was awarded yesterday in Houston, during the Maritime Decarbonization Conference, where Emmanuel Schalit, CEO of OceanWings had the opportunity to chair a Wind Propulsion roundtable. « The limited availability of alternative fuels combined with ambitious decarbonization objectives from the IMO mean that energy saving technologies will be essential for a cleaner maritime industry. Wind assisted propulsion technologies promise significant fuel consumption savings and reduced emissions without the need for onshore infrastructure. Along with safety excellence, our deep technical expertise in mechanical and structural analysis, stability and sustainability solutions makes us the ideal collaborator for innovative projects like this one from OceanWings, » said Roy Bleiberg, ABS Vice President, North America Business Development. Built on a shared vision for sustainable shipping, "Receiving this AIP from ABS represents a new essential milestone on our quest to cut CO2 emissions and proves our technology meets the shipping industry expectations and that we are ready to scale-up. », said Emmanuel Schalit, CEO of OceanWings. A heartfelt thank you to the event organizers, attendees, and fellow speakers for creating a platform to exchange ideas and collaborate toward a greener future. #MDCAmericas2024 #WindAssistedPropulsion #OceanWings #WindAssistedPropulsionSystems #WAPS Maritime Decarbonisation Community
