🌟 Thank You for Making the EUSALP Annual Forum and General Assembly a Success! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that the recent EUSALP Annual Forum and General Assembly brought together over 250 participants. This week, we also reached a milestone of 2,000 followers on LinkedIn! 🎉 Why is there so much interest in the Alpine region? The complexity and significance of this topic lie in its impact on enhancing cooperation and improving the daily lives of 80 million inhabitants. During the Annual Forum, we delved into these crucial issues and reaffirmed our commitment to the strategy outlined in the White Paper and the 2024 Brdo Declaration. Our goal is to ensure continued funding and support for the Action Plan, providing confidence and assurance to our Action Groups to keep advancing their activities. The General Assembly welcomed the newly appointed youth representatives from the seven countries involved in the strategy. Welcome aboard, Youth! Your energy and perspectives are vital to our mission. For more details, including official documents, photos, and the official video created by the Slovene Presidency of EUSALP, visit our website: Annual Forum Highlights https://urlr.me/qAMPcZ, link to the official video created by the Slovene Presidency of EUSALP https://urlr.me/fkaTz9. Liechtenstein is the only Alpine State whose territory is entirely in the Alps, which is a source of pride, cultural identity and success in winter sports. In its new role, Liechtenstein will be able to advance the full potential of the Alps and also address its challenges. The Alpine region is one of Europe's most economically dynamic areas, contributing significantly to the continent's prosperity and identity. It is also among the most sensitive when it comes to climate change and forces of nature. Addressing key challenges like energy transition and natural disaster management requires strengthened cross-border cooperation. In her remarks on assuming co-chairmanship, Foreign Minister Dominique Hasler emphasized the importance of collaboration among Alpine nations and highlighted Liechtenstein's initiatives for its co-chairmanship with Austria, set to begin with a kickoff event in Vaduz in February 2025. EUSALP 9th annual forum is now closing after two-days of sessions, workshops, political meetings in the beautiful Park of Brdo Casle, in Kranj, Slovenia. Welcomed by Tanja Fajon, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia, she recalled : "During its Presidency, Slovenia has advocated for enhanced transnational cooperation in the field of sustainable water management. Water is our most precious resource in the Alps. We must therefore ensure that it remains a precious commodity and not a destructive force." After the introductory purposes, and a high-level panel on the importance of a competitive, circular and smart Alpine region, the Slovene presidency symbolically handed over the Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region to Liechtenstein's Foreign Minister Dominique Hasler and the Governor of Tyrol, Anton Mattle, and the Governor of Carinthia, Peter Kaiser. High level panel was represented as follows : Minister Tanja Fajon, Dominique Hasler, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Education and Sport of Liechtenstein, Anton Mattle, Regional Governor of Tyrol (Austria), Fabrice Pannekoucke, President of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region (France), Eric Beißwenger, Regional Minister for European and International Affairs, Bavaria (Germany), Luciano Caveri, Regional Councillor for European Affairs, Innovation and National Policies for the Mountains of Valle d'Aosta (Italy), and Norman Gobbi, Regional Councillor of the Ticino Region (Switzerland).
