I would recommend the best technique to ensure quality with a tight deadline in my opinion is, to focus on important parts of your design, and not focus too much on small details. If you have a short deadline, your first priority should be to finish those parts which catches the eye, it might also be possible that the client for which the project your making is emphasizing more on particular subjects, then you should focus on those the most and if you have enough time left, you can work on detailing and shortcomings after.
