"Hey Claude with computer use, watch this construction site video & write up things you see that positive, as well as what looks dangerous, create a spreadsheet of critical issues to address" (video is sped up) How firms use AI as a manager, coach or panopticon is going to have a big impact on what work becomes. I am absolutely sure there are some hallucinations here, as these systems are not ready for real implementation yet, but there is every reason to suspect this capability will become commonplace. I did this all with a Youtube video and off-the-shelf Claude 3.5.

Update: It seems the local newspaper confirms it was mainly, if not entirely, the driver’s quick reflexes that averted this accident. Whatever the case, it’s impressive to see such a rapid response. Let's hope to see AI reaching this level of responsiveness as standard in the future! ### I'm personally reassured to see AI handle a life-or-death decision on the road like this, especially as AI ethics becomes a growing concern. In Brasov, Romania, a Tesla Model S swerved to avoid a tourist who had tripped on cobblestones into the road, making a split-second move that saved a life but led to a collision with an Audi. Although the Audi driver was hospitalised with minor injuries, the pedestrian walked away unharmed. Some argue an emergency stop would have been better, but with so little distance, it seems the ADAS system made the best possible call in my opinion. If not for the other car approaching in the oncoming lane at that moment, there likely would have been no injuries at all. Many questions about AI on the road remain, but it’s inspiring to see, at least in this instance, both technology and bystanders step up to help. #AI #AIethics #autonomousdriving #safetysystems #innovation
