LIA - Leyla İlman Architecture

LIA ; is an architecture and design studio that allows the design to be created on its own in the journey that starts with the context of the place, and constructs the spatial formations in a natural process. Setting out with its nature-friendly approach, LIA starts from the urban scale and extends to the human scale; carries out architectural and design productions over subject contexts such as place, spatial perception, material, function. LIA, which closely follows the technology and carries out innovative material and technical solution-oriented studies, also realizes ecological - sustainable projects. Leyla İlman Yörür, MSc Arch ETH , born in Switzerland (1985), grew up in Istanbul. Bsc of Yildiz Technical University in Architecture, first prize for the diploma project. Bsc and Master studies in Architecture at ETH Zürich, specializing in sustainable housing and digital fabrication. Between 2012-2016 worked in Gigon/Guyer Architects a leading architecture firm of Switzerland. While working at Gigon/Guyer, contribution to several award winning projects and three first prizes. Since 2016 as LIA - Leyla İlman Architecture, specialization in architectural and urban design with a focus on sustainable housing, offices and schools. 2016- 2022 she was part time lecturer, studio instructor in Bilgi University, school of Architecture in İstanbul. The main objective of the studio is to develop creative ways of design thinking and constructing through materials, geometry and recent technologies. Since 2021 she is a part time lecturer,  studio instructor in Yıldız Technical University, school of Architecture in İstanbul. Continuing her professional life in Istanbul and Zurich.
