[Media Statement] The Minister of Transport, Ms. Barbara Creecy has approved the publishing of the Transnet Network Statement for the rail network. The Network Statement facilitates open access to South Africa’s rail network by third-party operators. As part of the approval process, applications for slots will commence on publication of the Network Statement and close on 7 February 2025, and all TOCs will be liable to pay an application processing fee as determined in the final Network Statement when submitting their applications.  Read more:https://lnkd.in/d7sFzUKZ

[Watch] Transnet’s Cape Corridor successfully completed its 10-day maintenance on the Export Manganese line from Hotazel to Gqeberha. This initiative, planned in collaboration with our customers and Operating Divisions (Transnet Freight Rail, Transnet Port Terminals & Transnet Engineering), focused on: ✅ Enhancing network safety and reliability by upgrading tracks and overhead equipment ✅ Reducing temporary speed restrictions in constrained sections ✅ Rolling Stock maintenance ✅ Maintenance of Terminal equipment and infrastructure With safety at the core, these upgrades are another step towards improving operational efficiency and maintaining our position as a leading logistics provider. #TransnetRecoveryPlan #SafetyFirst #TransnetCares

As we mark the end of #16DaysOfActivism, the Transnet Foundation is hosting the #EmpowerHerExpo in Salt River, Cape Town. This initiative empowers survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through practical workshops in candle-making, relaxation therapy, and crocheting, enabling them to build sustainable businesses and regain confidence in their abilities. Through resource stalls, participants gained valuable insights on topics such as opening bank accounts and navigating online platforms, offering them tools for financial independence and a brighter future.
