The MediaShop is a full service, innovative, pioneering, always evolving media agency. We provide expertise in media strategy, planning and implementation across all communication channels. We are a highly awarded agency and believe there is always a better way to connect our client’s brands with consumers. We are a diverse group of innovative and highly skilled professionals who consistently add value to, and share knowledge with our clients. We believe that ‘Great minds think different’ and we live this ethos by thinking in the box, outside the box, next to the box and all around it. Our staff are talented professionals with a no-nonsense approach. The MediaShop is fairly unique as it has over 280 active clients who bill anything between R100 000 to R500 Million! Established in 1988, the MediaShop has a level 2 AA Empowerdex rated BBBEE scorecard, is 55% black owned and the oldest media independent in South Africa. We employ over 150 people and have offices in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

    Capitalizing on Black Friday Deals: A Strategic Look Inside Malls As the holiday season kicks off, Black Friday stands out as one of the most impactful shopping days of the year. During my recent visits to several malls, I couldn't help but notice how in-mall advertising has become a key player in driving retail sales during this high-energy period. One of the most striking strategies I observed was the use of high-impact digital screens placed strategically throughout the malls. Powered by companies like The Media Factory, these screens connect with shoppers in real-time, right when they’re already in a purchasing mindset. Unlike broader, more traditional advertising methods, digital screens inside malls engage customers at the exact moment they're making decisions, minimizing wasted impressions and maximizing sales opportunities. Alan Kietzman, Managing Director and Founder of The Media Factory, shared his insights on the power of this approach.
