🌟 𝗢𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁 (𝗠𝗠𝗣) 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 🌟 Yesterday, Jeannie Serfontein and Juane Schutte proudly represented Odin at the MMP Showcase Day—a remarkable event that brought together the diverse and interconnected world of mining. The mining sector, as highlighted at the event, is far more than just operations and output; it’s a system of systems encompassing suppliers, social groups, technology innovators, academia, government, and countless others. Our session focused on some of the core challenges around technology adoption, specifically addressing why Industry 4.0 hasn't scaled as expected, despite the technological advancements over the past 12 years. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟮: Consultants often overhype digital transformation without understanding shop floor realities, resulting in ineffective, jargon-heavy proposals. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟯: Integrating digital solutions with hardware is complex, involving interoperability, security risks, and real-time communication needs. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟰: Resistance from middle management stems from fear of transparency, requiring trust and education.
