As we step into 2025, we’re proud to reflect on one of the standout moments of the past year: the launch of Ecosystem Mapping of Innovation Entrepreneurship at South African TVETs. This milestone report, developed in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, the Department of Science and Innovation, and Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy South Africa, which underscores TVET colleges' crucial role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the Green Economy. 🌍 Covering 10 key dimensions of the TVET innovation ecosystem, the report offers valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of skills development and entrepreneurship in South Africa. Looking back at the Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) 2024, we’re filled with inspiration and gratitude. 🌟 Africa Women Innovation The event was a powerful celebration of the stories, journeys, lessons, and insights of incredible women in entrepreneurship across Africa. From thought-provoking discussions to heartfelt testimonies, we were reminded of the resilience and innovation that drives African women to lead and thrive in their ventures. We are especially honoured to have been a partner in this transformative event and to have participated in pivotal conversations, including a Day 2 panel discussion on the role of TVET colleges in fostering entrepreneurship among students. On October 5th, we had the privilege of attending the 2024 National Teaching Awards, celebrating the dedication of extraordinary teachers across South Africa. This programme, organised by the Department of Basic Education , shines a spotlight on the efforts of educators who inspire and shape the next generation, often under challenging circumstances. It was an honour to witness hardworking teachers being recognised for their dedication and achievements. Their commitment fosters an atmosphere of creativity and entrepreneurship among African youth, empowering them to become the innovators of tomorrow. Reflecting on an impactful Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2024, we celebrate the incredible efforts of 22 On Sloane and the Global Entrepreneurship Network in bringing entrepreneurs together and creating space for growth, innovation, and connection. From the GEW Hackathon in Cape Town to the launch of the 22 ON SLOANE Cape Town Hub, it was a week filled with innovation, collaboration, and growth. The National Presidential MSME and Cooperatives Summit and Game Fest in Johannesburg also highlighted the energy and creativity driving South Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
