  • Last week, following the 3-day Indalopreneur iSimangaliso Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) classroom workshop held in September together with WILDTRUST OFFICIAL, a 2-day classroom workshop was held from November 28th to 29th, focusing on assisting enterprises in developing their business and support plans. The workshop also covered financial planning, as well as monitoring and evaluation. During the workshop, the enterprises were introduced to pitching their businesses. The participants, eager to expand their knowledge and build on the insights gained from the previous workshop, demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to learning, and they appreciated the relevance of the content and its potential to positively impact their enterprises. #EbA #Wildtrust #Indalopreneurhsip

  • Last week Indalo Inclusive became the recipient of 2 awards recognising excellence in climate action and environmental conservation in South Africa. South African National Parks (SANParks) have presented us the Innovation Award at the annual Kudu Awards in recognition of our support for renewable energy adoption in townships and promoting renewable energy awareness amongst green and social enterprises through the Township Energy Fund Project we are implementing with the support of the Industrial Development Corporation. We are also proud to announce and congratulate our Senior Projects Co-ordinator, Shamiela Reid, as a winner of the Green Finance and Business Award at the annual Mail & Guardian Greening the Future Awards. She received the award for her work on the Just Energy Transition in the Mpumalanga coal belt, collaborating with communities to develop JET community-based innovations through social ownership models. It is a both a pleasure and honour to have the work we do recognised and celebrated by peers and partners. This inspires us to do more to support eco-inclusive enterprises and play our part in creating a green and inclusive economy in South Africa. #GreenFinance #justenergytransition #KuduAwards #Indalopreneurship

  • Today, we had the pleasure of showcasing our work in the Kruger region at the GKSDP Network meeting hosted by the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Region NPC and partners. The event, hosted annually, brings together various groups and organisations working within the Greater Kruger landscape to share work done, celebrate their individual contributions and show how their efforts are making a positive impact in the landscape. We were happy to meet other organisations doing dynamic work in the region and finding ways we can foster collaboration to increase our reach and impact. #Krugerlandscape #Indalopreneurship

  • Our #COP29 delegation included Zakhele Maya who is a member of, and represented, the Dipaleseng JET Task Team which was developed as a component of our Dipaleseng JET-ID project. The Dipaleseng JET Task Team is made up of local community members and their role is to engage local stakeholders and community members, advocate for the community, actively engage in meetings surrounding the JET process in Dipaleseng, ensure that all elements of the project align with the communities’ interest, and to find appropriate solutions to resolving any challenges which may surface during the implementation of the project. Indalo Inclusive has provided the task team with training in the areas of Policy Advocacy, Governance Training, and Proposal Development to familiarise them with the discourse and landscape of climate change and just transition as well as to equip them to engage meaningfully in this area. Accordingly, we have facilitated the Dipaleseng Task Team’s participation in various local and global forums throughout the year including COP29 Azerbaijan where Zakhele participated in a number of side events and discussions as a representative of the Dipaleseng community. • Today's theme at COP29 Azerbaijan is "Indigenous Peoples/Gender Equality / Nature and Biodiversity/Oceans and Coastal Zones", and we are aligning our exhibition with the theme by showcasing our nature conservation projects and the enterprises supported through them. We are taking their stories to the world to find ways of increasing the impact of eco-inclusive South African enterprises locally. #COP29 #indalopreneurship #ecoinclusive #conservation

  • We wrapped up our schedule of side events at COP29 Azerbaijan with a discussion titled "Equitable Climate Action: Laws, Policies and Finance For An Inclusive and Accountable Transition" which Indalo Inclusive, represented by Rest Kanju, participated in. As part of the panel of speakers, Mr Kanju expressed the need for balanced voices in the UNFCCC process, and further observing that while #COP29Azerbaijan has made strides in recognising the role of SMMEs more work needs to be done in this regard. Hear what Mr Kanju had to say.

  • Are you at #COP29Azerbaijan? Connect with us at our exhibition stand. Ecosystem building is one of the core pillars of our work, so we are excited to meet and find out your work and organisation as well as to tell you more about the enterprises we support and the other impactful projects we are implementing throughout South Africa in the areas of conservation, sustainable tourism, and climate technology. Find us at Exhibition Stand 2 in the Blue Zone today and tomorrow. #COP29 #connectwithus #Indalopreneurship
