How do you sum up an incredible year of 'firsts' for ENGIE in South Africa? Here's our attempt—though it might fall short of truly capturing the remarkable milestones and achievements that made 2024 so extraordinary! We began the year by officially welcoming the new #TransitionMakers from BTE into the ENGIE Group, followed by the financial close of the award-winning OYA Energy Hybrid Facility – one of the largest in Africa. As if that wasn’t enough, ENGIE in South Africa was recognized as a Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute for fostering an exceptional workplace culture. 🏆 We hosted thought-provoking and engaging townhalls with international colleagues, including Tomaz Guadagnin, Brenda Raftery, Claire Waysand and Geert Bunkens. We welcomed ENGIE’s Chairman of the Board, Mr. Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, for a strategic “check-in” on our rapid growth in South Africa. We proudly hosted Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, Minister of Electricity, at our Avon & Dedisa Peaking Power Power Plant, a key player in supplying Eskom with peak demand electricity. We broke ground on our 75MW Grootspruit and Graspan Solar Facilities (coming in 2025!) and represented South Africa at the Africa Energy Forum (AEF) in Spain. In true “ONE ENGIE” spirit, we celebrated our diversity at events like Heritage & Mandela Day, launched our first Paddle Tournament, ran the Timu Moja Fun Run, and participated in the FSACCI Pétanque Cup. Another ‘first’ for us was hosting over 100 colleagues from across the AMEA region at our Rhythm of Mzansi theme weeklong training and connecting seminar. The crowning moment? Moving into our brand-new ENGIE South Africa offices in Bryanston, which will create a collaborative and inspiring workspace for many years to come. 🏢 And just as the year wraps up, we’ve been awarded the prestigious Sustainable Energy Transition (SET) Label Certification by Bureau Veritas Group. This recognizes our ongoing commitment to sustainable, community-focused renewable energy projects that reduce carbon emissions. 🌱🌟 As we celebrate the achievements and "firsts" of 2024, we extend heartfelt thanks to our staff and partners. Here’s to accelerating the transition to a carbon-neutral future together! 🚀 #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #ENGIESouthAfrica #TransitionMakers

November 29th was a groundbreaking – no pun intended – day, as ENGIE South Africa’s Head Office and Sites across the country laced up their running shoes for the TIMU MOJA fun run. The event inspired by the Swahili phrase meaning “One Team” is more than just a fitness event, it’s about connection! Bringing together our employees, stakeholders, and local communities to celebrate our shared spirit of “Ubuntu”. This year’s event offered something for everyone, with both 5KM and 10KM routes, including some breathtaking scenic runs through our iconic Wind Farm locations. From cityscapes to awe-inspiring landmarks, each site added its unique flair to the day! And what better way to end the day than with a good old South African braai? With tired legs but beaming smiles, we celebrated our collective efforts in true ENGIE style! Take a look at what our incredible team got up to during the day. #TimuMoja #OneTeam #Ubuntu #ENGIESouthAfrica #FunRun
