Here's a film that I am VERY proud to have been a part of. This project was exciting from the first meeting with Pascale Abou Jamra. Building on the success of her Qatar National Museum dance film, she worked incredibly hard to develop a concept for Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art that would capture the museum and the plethora of offerings whilst using dance as the medium by which we explore the space. I was sold. I added my two cents and we were off and running. In this experimental short film, a silent woman rides the metro to and from Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, daily. She is searching for inspiration within the museum walls and in the artworks she stares at endlessly. Last year, as Senior Producer at Qatar Museums, I wanted to create films that would encapsulate the experience of visiting the museums. Inspired by the visionary leadership of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the unforgettable Festival in Motion conceived during the World Cup period, an idea sparked within me: "Why don’t we tell the story of each museum through dance and movement?". And thus, the journey began… Today, I'm thrilled to unveil the short film I’ve produced for the National Museum of Qatar: "You Are at The National Museum". This concept has garnered recognition on the global stage, clinching three awards at international film festivals! 🏆 Best Style Film at Style, Experimental, Fashion Film Festival (Los Angeles, USA) 🏆 Fan Award and Best Art Dance Film Award at The Music Dance Screenings Film Festival Consonance (Tbilisi, Georgia) Enormous appreciation goes out to the brilliant Dimitri Yuri for directing, and heartfelt gratitude to THE FILM HOUSE team for the wonderful execution and Qatar Museums and the National Museum of Qatar for entrusting us with this incredible journey. 🎵 With music by renowned composer Dana Al Fardan, and featuring the talented dancer Anne Laure Pecot and choreography designed by Enrica Barbagallo.
