[#Workshop #KSA] EDF Middle East, as part of Saudi Arabia Smart Grid Conference (SASG) 2024, organized a workshop “Connecting the dots: Energy flexibility, opportunities and challenges” to showcase EDF’ s cutting-edge technologies and expertise through insightful presentations by industry specialists. [#Visit] We were honored to welcome Xavier Girre CFO of EDF Group, to our Abu Dhabi office during his visit to the Middle East. He had the opportunity to explore key projects, including the Al Dhafra Solar PV Plant, the largest solar project of its kind, and the Hatta pumped-storage project, a milestone in energy innovation, and met with teams from EDF Middle East ,EDF Renewables Middle East and Dalkia Middle East . [#CSR] Our EDF Middle East team joined hands with Companies for Good for an inspiring day of mangrove planting and kayaking at Jubail Island at Abu Dhabi. This hands-on initiative invited 60 participants to engage in a fulfilling experience, learning about mangrove trees while making a positive impact on the environment. 🌱 This initiative take part in EDF’s Social Responsibility Commitment, part of the SDG adopted by the United Nations. Participants contributed by planting 120 trees to protecting coastlines, promoting biodiversity, and fighting climate change. [#News] EDF Middle East is proud to explore the development of a 5GW pumped-storage hydropower plant in Ras Al Khaimah, reinforcing our commitment to supporting the UAE’s energy transition. This project represents a significant step toward enhancing energy storage capacity and ensuring a resilient, sustainable energy future. According to Luc Koechlin CEO of EDF Middle East, speaking at the Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department Energy Summit on Thursday, the project, designed to store energy for up to 12 hours, represents a "country-level" initiative focused on stabilizing electricity supply in the UAE, where clean energy is playing an increasingly vital role in the energy mix.
