Here are some facts and figures that reflect the evolution of the Saudi Sports sector: -       Saudi Arabia’s sports sector market value is projected to hit $22.4 billion by 2030, up from $8 billion. -       The Kingdom has hosted over 100 major international events across 40 different sports since 2019. -       The sector’s contribution to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product grew from $2.4 billion in 2016 to $6.9 billion in 2019. -       Annual contributions are projected to reach $16.5 billion by 2030, accounting for 1.5 percent of the national GDP. -       Additionally, sports investments are expected to generate over 100,000 jobs in the next decade. -       The sector also saw a rise in infrastructure spending, with plans for $2.7 billion to develop and renovate facilities by 2028 -       Major events hosted by the Kingdom include the FIFA Club World Cup, the Saudi Cup horse race, and various Formula 1 races held in Jeddah. The crowning achievement for the Kingdom is hosting the FIFA World Cup of 2034. Beyond attracting high-profile athletes and events, Saudi Arabia is making substantial investments in grassroots sports development and infrastructure. The country is building state-of-the-art facilities, implementing youth sports programs, and fostering a new generation of local talent across multiple disciplines. Here are some facts and figures that show the Kingdom’s local sports scene: -       Participation rates in physical activities have increased, with 50 percent of the population now exercising regularly, up from 13 percent in 2015.  -       Initiatives like the Sports for All Federation have supported this shift, which engaged over 295,000 participants in community programs in 2023 alone. -       Female participation has also increased by 400 percent since 2015, and women now make up 45 percent of community sports club members. -        A total of 97 female coaches were registered in 2023, reflecting a 61 percent year-on-year increase.   The kingdom is well on its way to making sports an integral part of its economic landscape. The Saudi-Chinese Joint Business Council Forum took place where 24 agreements were signed, with 25 Saudi investors and 30 Chinese investors in attendance, aimed to further enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. As the Kingdom looks to localize vaccine production and manufacture medicines in a market valued at over 30 billion Saudi riyals, and as the Kingdom's private insurance market is predicted to grow fivefold, the forum focused on biotechnology as one of the priority areas. This will open up new opportunities for strategic partnerships and investment. In order to promote the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the meeting concentrated on strengthening economic cooperation in critical sectors, emphasizing biotechnology, healthcare, and foreign and private investments. Trade and commercial ties between the Kingdom and China have grown significantly in recent years; in 2023, trade between the two nations totaled SR70.4 billion, demonstrating the strength of their economic ties.
