About us
A chamber of commerce (or board of trade) is a form of business network, for example, a local organization of businesses whose goal is to further the interests of businesses. Business owners in towns and cities form these local societies to advocate on behalf of the business community. Visit our website for what we do and to get involved today! Established in 1981 as a forum for discussion among our business leaders and to improve business opportunities in our area. In a manner typical of small towns in Ontario, the Chamber focuses on initiatives to attract retail shopping and to enhance community life. By 1995, the membership of the Chamber had settled at 80 members. In 1998 the Alliston & District Chamber of Commerce won the Ontario Chamber of Commerce "Chamber of the Year" Award. Today the Chamber is proud to have 250 members! Task Forces have been established to support other organizations with in the larger area of the Town of New Tecumseth and South Simcoe County. The Alliston Chamber is in a facility boasting office space, tourism centre and a large meeting room. The Chamber office is in a highly visible location on the main street in downtown Alliston in the newly renovated Alliston Monument Works Building. An ideal location for an Ontario Tourist Information Centre. "The Voice of Business in Our Community" FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/allistonchamber/
