    • A vibrant teal-colored poster advertises a call for feminists to join the board of directors at St. John's STatus of Women Council and Women's Centre.

The large, bold text "Feminists Wanted!" is set in a sans-serif font against a light beige rectangle. Below this headline, smaller text outlines the opportunity: "Join our Board of Directors and help us strategize toward a more equitable future!"

At the top right corner, a purple symbol within a circle, along with the text "ST. JOHN'S WOMEN'S CENTRE", is displayed. At the bottom of the poster, another purple symbol within a circle and the words "ST. JOHN'S STATUS OF WOMEN COUNCIL" appear. The background is a striking teal, with radiating white lines reminiscent of sunbursts echoing outward from the center. These graphic elements add visual interest and dynamism.
    • A teal-colored background features a white box containing text. The heading, "We are seeking skills in, below this, a bulleted list highlights three specific skill areas: "Facilities management," "Legal and privacy," and "Fund development." Following this bulleted list is a line containing the phrase, "Maybe you have other skills?" Finally, the text "Apply! You could be just what we need." is positioned below the skill list. The lower portion of the box displays a logo and the text "ST. JOHN'S STATUS OF WOMEN COUNCIL" in a sans-serif font.

Intersectional feminist. Anti-racist. Strategic leadership. Always curious.

Being part of the Board of Directors at the SJSWC is a great way to meet people, to learn and grow, and to challenge us as an organization that has been doing this work for more than 50 years now. What's coming up for us? Strategic planning, diversifying our fund development, and thinking very critically about our structure and ways of working. It's all going to be challenging, but also exciting. Join us and be part of setting our future direction! Applications can be sent to board@sjwomenscentre.ca, closing January 2, 2025.

Are you wondering what types of skills we are looking for as we work to bring on new members of our Board of Directors? ✔️ Facilities management - We know the importance of having buildings that are safe, comfortable, and efficient. As we grow and expand, we are hoping that you can help us see how we can use our facilities to integrate people, place, process, and technology, but even more than that to help us think through what it means for a space to be "feminist." ✔️ Legal and privacy - We know that your law background comes with keen analytical skills, the ability to identify risks, and a readiness to make recommendations based on facts, while also remembering that the grey areas are real. ✔️ Fund development - As we look at new ways of diversifying our funding streams to allow us to do our work in new and better ways, we are eager to recruit board members who can look at fund development in creative ways and challenge some of our thinking around how we find the money to do the important work we do. ✔️ Public relations - Your expertise in communications and public relations will help us shape our strategy for the future, while helping us think critically about both internal and external communications goals. 💡 Not sure your skills exactly match these areas of expertise? Send us your resume, let's talk. ⏰ Applications to join our Board of Directors close on January 2, 2025! Send your CV and cover letter or video to board@sjwomenscentre.ca
