Pixel Route is a nonprofit organization for artists from British Columbia who are motivated to meet up at the annual Vancouver Global Game Jam at UBC. Our role in the Game Jam community is to provide teams with quality art and visual input for games. We focus more about supporting artists to feel confident in themselves. We align ourselves with GGJ’s mission statement: http://www.ggjvancouver.ca/
The Vancouver Global Game Jam is dedicated to:
• Bring together students, enthusiasts and industry individuals to work together, side-by-side in an open-minded and judgment-free environment
• Raise awareness of the video-game industry and relevant research in Vancouver, and the amazing people who work hard every day to create, cover, and play our games
• To create opportunities for networking, resume-building and fostering mentoring relationships among people in our community, or those wishing to become more involved

What We Do at Global Game Jam
We aspire to bring an artist group that will provide art assets. There will be available spots for the Pixel Route table while excess members disperse and join with other teams.
Pixel Route aims to benefit artists by sharing knowledge with each other about tools, techniques, color theory, lighting, and fundamentals in game design. This includes creating mockups and wireframes that will help improve the user interface and user experience as well.
We will provide easier access to art for teams lacking artists. Developers, writers, and other creators will benefit in learning the type of information needed to improve workflow between them and artists (ie. resolution, size, format, focus, narrative, world description)
