Turns out that the hype around AI Scribes is real. Last week I had the opportunity to attend the annual OntarioMD Educates: Digital Health Conference #omddhc2024 in my hometown of Toronto, ON. It was not surprising that the hot topic of discussion was AI, but there were two twists. First, the team at OntarioMD released the results of their study in to AI Scribes. This study was meant to cut through the vendor hype and determine, first-hand, how the technology could help and the true benefits it provides. The study validated the claims - with physicians reporting significant improvements to their workflow. Second, I learned that OntarioMD plans to certify AI Scribe vendors so that physicians can be reassured that selecting one from that certified list means that it will meet their needs.
