Fueling change for a sustainable future

About us

We are a British Columbia based wood products company that partners with First Nations and BC communities and that utilizes mainly deciduous trees, forest residuals and waste biomass, to make sustainable, renewable wood products that reduce the carbon footprint of today’s energy sources. Our goal is to be an enterprise supplier of biomass products to the global renewable energy market at home and abroad. Our cornerstone project will produce renewable energy in the form of industrial wood pellets for electricity generation for global utilities and large-scale power generators. Sustainably produced wood pellets are used as an alternative fuel, replacing fossil fuels like coal. Our wood pellets are used to supply renewable and reliable baseload power. In partnership with the Fort Nelson First Nation we are working together to build a commercial scale pellet plant in Fort Nelson, BC. When commissioned in 2022, the Fort Nelson Pellet Plant will produce 600,000 tonnes per year for export to Asia and Europe. Peak Renewables' portfolio of projects feature sustainable biomass to energy products. We are committed to sustainably harvested biomass and carbon friendly production and embrace the ESG principles of Environment, Social and Governance.

As Georgia rapidly continues to grow, so does the opportunity to use #MassTimber in residential, mixed use, and commercial developments. In 2022, Jamestown did not hesitate to choose mass timber for construction of 619 Ponce @poncecitymarket. This building is a first-of-its-kind, as it’s made with locally grown AND sourced forest products. “With Georgia’s forests growing 48 percent more tree volume than is harvested annually, our state can continue to be a leader in mass timber manufacturing and construction, grown right here in our backyard,” said Matt Hestad, Senior Vice President of GFF. So why build with Mass timber? 🌎 It requires substantially lower embodied carbon than conventional building materials 🔨 Is 25-40% faster to build 🚗 Causes 90% less construction traffic 🔥 Is fire-resistant and resilient to earthquakes 🪵 Is 30% lighter and as strong as concrete and steel 🏠 Provides a sense of well-being for residents 📈 Increases demand for wood ensuring a healthy market Most importantly, mass timber allows #Georgia to grow in a #sustainable way. @georgiaforestry @jamestown.lp @smartlam_north_america @georgiapacific @forestresourceconsultants @structurecraft @u.s.forestservice #HouseBill777 #Construction #Residential #Commercial #Buildings #LocallyGrown #Wood #LocallySourced #ForestProducts

  • We were thrilled to welcome Senator Tommy Tuberville (and former Auburn Football Coach) and his team to the Peak Renewables BioEnergy Plant in Dothan! It was a pleasure hosting such enthusiastic supporters of Alabama’s forestry sector. We’re grateful for their kind words about our dedicated team and our commitment to sustainability in the forest industry. Who knows? Maybe next time, we can add a little football to the agenda! • This day, on National Truth and Reconciliation Day, we take time to honour the strength of residential school survivors and to remember the children who never made it home. May we use this day to listen to and reflect upon stories of survivors within our communities. May we also take time to learn about the richness of Indigenous cultures, languages and traditions. Let us all recognize and celebrate the resilience and strength of our First Nations peoples - today and every day.
