It's all about comfort! But what makes a home comfortable? 1. Temperature Control It's the most obvious, but it's also the foundation of comfort. Maintaining a consistent temperature is key—check out the consistency (solid blue line) in this Trane Diagnostics screenshot from last week's featured installation! The heat pump is disabled in this screenshot as I'm dialing things in for this home owner, but: - The heat pump will handle loads up to 50K. - As the outdoor temperature continues to drop, gas heat will take over. This setup ensures consistent temperature control in all weather. More Stages = More Comfort 2. Humidity Control Proper humidity (30 - 50% RH is typical) is often overlooked but crucial for comfort. For this home, we replaced two humidifiers that couldn't keep up with a single AprilAire 800 Steam humidifier — Delivering up to 34.6 gallons per day to maintain ideal humidity levels. 3. Air Quality No pets, no allergies, and no major concerns with this home, so we opted not to install the Trane CleanEffects. However, we did upgrade the 1" MERV 8 to a 5" MERV 11 for improved air filtration. Plus the home uses a ~200 CFM HRV to provide fresh air to the home and remove contaminants from the home. 4. Airflow Even distribution of air is key to comfort. With a bit of needed balancing and a supply and a return in every room, we've avoided hot or cold spots - ensuring every area is just right. 5. Quiet Operation The unsung hero of home comfort! No fancy tools required to spot a noisy system. Nailing every comfort metric won't matter if the system is loud. Equipment selection & location is key. The homeowners can't tell when the heat pump is running. #HVACMagic #NEE #TraneInnovation #Efficiency #Comfort
