🎉 A Recap of Our Leadership Festive Potluck! 🎄 Last week, we had an incredible time at our Leadership Potluck Holiday Party, an excellent extension of our recent 🌟 Operations Leadership Workshop 🌟! From delicious homemade dishes to joy-filled moments, it was the perfect way for our operations leadership to wrap up the year. 2024 was a great year, filled with challenges, but this team rose to the occasion, taking on each challenge and excelling in guest service excellence. Leaders from Housekeeping, Maintenance, Front Office, Security, Sales, & Events, and our General Manager, Saurabh Mehta, celebrated the year’s achievements. The holiday potluck was a fantastic follow-up. The team continued to build on the connections made and strengthened the teamwork and camaraderie that define us. It was wonderful to unite and celebrate our successes and commitment to guest service excellence. Each team brings something unique to the table, and it was great to see everyone unwind, connect, and celebrate what we've accomplished together. The giant 40-tonne vault at One King West Hotel & Residence is not just a relic of Canadian banking history but a symbol of incredible engineering, craftsmanship, and a touch of drama. Originally transported from England in 1913 by 19 horses and 8 men, this vault is a testament to Toronto’s rich heritage. Today, it’s not only preserved as part of the hotel’s charm but also serves as a unique venue for private events, including weddings, photoshoots, and even blockbuster films like Ocean’s 8! Honouring 120 Years of Legacy of the Empire Club of Canada 🇨🇦 On 21 November 2024, the Empire Club of Canada celebrated its 120th Anniversary and unveiled a historic plaque at One King West Hotel & Residence, the Club’s founding location in 1903.   Originally built as Dominion Bank in 1914, One King West stands as a symbol of Toronto’s rich history. The newly unveiled plaque commemorates the Empire Club’s remarkable legacy and the city’s architectural and cultural heritage.   The event featured inspiring speeches, including a heartfelt address by Empire Club Chair Jenna D., who shared her vision for expanding the Club’s reach and impact. Gordon K. McIvor, Ph.D. , President of the Empire Club Foundation, introduced Saurabh Mehta, General Manager of One King West Hotel, referring to him as the "guardian" of this historic building. Mr. Mehta spoke passionately about the hotel’s deep connection to Toronto’s growth and resilience, highlighting its preserved history and iconic architecture as a bridge between the city’s past and future.   Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow also delivered a compelling speech reflecting the Empire Club’s enduring role in fostering diverse and meaningful conversations. She reminded us of the importance of learning from our history to build a prosperous future.   This milestone is a testament to the power of history, dialogue, and community.
