Rehumanizing mental health in workplaces and beyond.
About us
We’ve worked with thousands of leaders who run successful organizations and genuinely care about their people. They are doing the things they believe will provide the necessary support and feel like they've got their people covered – until they don't. This is when we often step in to help bridge the gap. Partnering with MHI means moving beyond lip service to mental health towards a caring culture embedded not just in policies but in the “connective tissue” of the organization. Time and again, we've observed that entire organizations flourish when their leaders genuinely care for the mental health of both their people and themselves. We believe just directing individuals to an EAP or website resources isn't enough. These are good starting points, but more is needed. Our approach, featuring action-oriented strategies like implementing the WeCARE™ eLearning program for everyone and WeCARE™ for Leaders, equips people-leaders at all levels with the skills and courage to lean in and support those struggling. Our clients engage us to assist their leaders in simplifying, de-medicalizing, and breaking down the complexities of mental health support. We are leading experts in developing and managing peer support programs (with a key-in-hand approach) that effectively leverage the lived experience of employees, empowering them to become pillars of support and beacons of hope for their peers. Our clients span various industry sectors, including healthcare, government, and first responders. Our commitment stands firm: to rehumanize mental health in workplaces and beyond.

In the world of event planning, safety isn't just about physical risks — mental health is a crucial part of the conversation too. At the 2024 Event Safety Alliance Conference, several experts highlighted the need for meeting planners to have protocols in place for addressing mental health crises. One of the key voices was MHI partner Leslie Bennett, who called for industry associations to establish clear, standardized guidelines to protect attendees. She emphasized the importance of training staff to recognize signs of distress, provide mental health resources, and create a safe space for attendees experiencing challenges. As we look ahead to 2025, we are hopeful that the integration of mental health support into event planning will continue to grow, fostering more inclusive, caring environments that prioritize well-being for both attendees and planners. ✨ As part of our ongoing Peer Support Nova Scotia program evaluation, we survey clinicians working on the units where our peer supporters offer their valuable support. Here is a powerful insight shared by one clinician: "In acute care psychiatry, peer support enhances emotional well-being by providing empathetic, relatable connections and reducing feelings of isolation. It offers practical advice and motivation, which improves patients' engagement with their treatment plans and recovery outcomes. Additionally, peer supporters help with social integration and provide a holistic approach to care, addressing both clinical and personal aspects of recovery." We are proud to see how our peer supporters continue to make a positive impact on both the individuals they support and the broader healthcare teams they collaborate with. 🌱 For more information about this program, visit : https://lnkd.in/er3dvnfn #PeerSupport #MentalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #PatientCare #HolisticRecovery #PSNS #MentalHealthCare

We are proud to support many first responder organizations across Ontario who have taken proactive steps to address the mental health challenges faced by their people. At Mental Health Innovations Consulting, we understand the unique pressures and stresses that public safety personnel face every day, which is why we’ve developed specialized models and solutions tailored to their specific needs. Today, we are pleased to see the Ontario government expanding its mental health supports for these dedicated individuals. The additional funding and resources announced in this new initiative will be a critical layer of support for those who serve and protect communities across the province. “This investment builds on our work through the Roadmap to Wellness to enhance access to mental health services and ensure that our first responders can connect to targeted and compassionate supports, where and when they need it most.” - Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health We remain committed to partnering with organizations on the front lines, helping ensure that the mental well-being their people is prioritized and supported. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
