🌎 On #WorldSoilDay, we are reaffirming the importance of soil health as it underpins our commitment to #RegenerativeAgriculture. 💛 Soil plays a critical role—storing carbon, protecting water resources, and helping mitigate the effects of climate change. 🌱 As part of our regenerative agriculture efforts, we prioritize practices that promote healthier soils across our acreage together with the dedication of our farming partners. 🥔 We are on a journey, reimagining the way we grow a potato and leaving our soils healthier long term. #WorldSoilDay2024 #WeAreMcCain

A busy few days in #Ottawa at the Sustainable Finance Forum with RBC Climate Action Institute & the Canadian Alliance for Net Zero Agri-Food (CANZA) and in #Brussels at the POLITICO Europe Sustainable Future Week discussing sustainable agriculture and cultivating investment in these practices. Honoured to join both conversations to help push the agenda forward with my fellow panelists.   At McCain Foods, our ambition is to advance #RegenerativeAgriculture to improve #SoilHealth and farm resilience while financially supporting our farmer partners through their transition. We recognize that mitigating the effects of #ClimateChange is essential to our business and farmers’ livelihoods. That’s why over 50% of our potato acreage is onboarded within our Regenerative Agriculture Framework. With research farms studying the impacts of regenerative agriculture across varying geographies and financial partnerships spanning over 8 countries, we’re working globally to support farmers’ transitions both financially and practically.   Platforms like the Canadian Alliance for Net Zero Agri-Food (CANZA) are vital for aligning value chains and building incentives for regenerative practices. Harmonized definitions, measurable indicators, and shared responsibility across the value chain will accelerate progress. Farmers can’t do this alone—we all have a role to play.   Special thanks to POLITICO Europe and RBC Climate Action Institute for facilitating these great conversations and to my fellow panelists, Mihail DUMITRU, Vincent Delobel, John Stackhouse, moderators Bartosz Brzeziński, Geoff McCarney and presenter Alison Sunstrum for their insightful contributions.   Together, we can drive meaningful change for farmers and the planet. 🌾   #POLITICOSustainableWeek #SustainableFinanceForum #RegenerativeAgriculture #WeAreMcCain
