Red laser illumination delivers increased speed, sensitivity, and signal quality when scanning dark materials such as black rubber tires, and on reddish materials like copper that absorb blue laser light. Users can also achieve increased speed in their dual and multi-sensor systems by networking red and blue laser models without the need for exposure multiplexing. We had a great time celebrating our HQ’s Holiday Party this past weekend. The night consisted of a ‘Twinking Lights, Groovy Nights’ theme with a great performance from the Coco Project Band, a super fun 360 video booth, and a few raffle prize draws sprinkled in throughout the night. It was great to see everyone all dressed up and mingling amongst each other 🎄 Thank you to all the social committee volunteers for making the event a huge success, and for all the employees and their guests for coming out to enjoy a night of holiday fun. A few months ago, staff members from our China offices came together to celebrate LMI’s annual fall event. The Southern team went to the city of Kunming for the day where they visited Stone Forest Scenic; a forest famous for its collection of giant limestone pillars that rise up from the earth for various shapes and sizes. The Eastern China teams (Shanghai and Suzhou) went to Ri Zhao City in Shan Dong province where they spent the day walking along the seaside and spending time at the beach. Dual and Multi-Sensor Systems: What Do You Know About Speed and Precision? ⚡ When combining blue and red laser sensors in your system — whether side by side in a wide layout or facing each other in an opposite configuration, you unlock the potential for significant speed improvements. Why? Because you no longer need exposure multiplexing. A red sensor won’t "see" the blue sensor’s laser light and vice versa, even when both lasers are on at the same time. This eliminates the need for time-consuming adjustments, leading to faster, more efficient operation. By removing the need to physically offset sensors, your system becomes more precise, especially in dynamic environments like road and rail measurement, ultimately resulting in increased speed and accuracy. For example, if your application is such that neighboring or alternating sensors only see the "other color" of a different sensor, your system could potentially perform at least 2X as fast compared to what you would have if you were using all blue or all red laser models. Members of LMI’s HR team participated in the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown’s annual Festival of Trees charity event. LMI sponsored a tree for the third consecutive year with our full proceeds going towards the charity Backpack Buddies. This campaign aims to raise awareness to children facing hunger in the community and families struggling to provide for this holiday season. It wouldn’t be very J.E.D.I of us to not decorate our tree with Star Wars ornaments and presents, and of course, a yoda tree topper! Bring your LMI kids to work with you! 👩💻👨💻 On November 6, 2024, LMI participated in the national “Take Our Kids to Work Day” at our HQ office. The day consisted of four employee’s grade 9 children partaking in an all day event that included product demos (including playing with our Gocator sensor to scan their faces!), informative presentations by our teams and a production tour with a pizza lunch! We had a great time showing the grade 9 students around HQ. Thanks to all the parents and children who participated as well as the volunteer presenters from the various departments.
