🎆 🎇 Happy New Year! 🎇 🎆 If you're a 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate student and are still deciding which courses to take this Winter term, here's a great opportunity: TME*3513 - Introduction to Systems-Thinking   This is a non-technical course which counts as a DTME elective and is also considered a Complementary Studies Course for some Engineering programs (check with your department’s advisor). This course has a limited number of seats (20), running only once a year (Winter), and there are only a few spots left!   TME*3513 is an interdisciplinary course designed to equip you with the tools and mindset needed to tackle real-world challenges. In TME*3513, you’ll learn to map, analyze, and model complex systems, discovering how small actions can create meaningful change in interconnected social, environmental, and technological systems. 🚨 Systems-Thinking Paper Published! 🚨 I'm thrilled to share that our paper, "Fostering Holistic Thinking: Design of an Interdisciplinary Systems-Thinking Course," has officially been published in the Canadian Engineering Education Association - Association Canadienne De L'Éducation En Génie proceedings and is now available to download through an open-access license! This paper explores the design and implementation of a systems-thinking course that emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, critical pedagogy, and experiential learning. Congrats to UNB almuni Sam Poirier (BScME'19, M-TME'19) on being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Transportation and Mobility! Sam co-founded Potential Motors in 2018 to apply autonomous vehicle technology away from paved roads and has led the development of a software system dubbed Terrain Intelligence, which uses computer vision and AI to enable vehicles like ATVs and mining trucks to better handle rough ground.
