About us

We care deeply that children with disabilities in the world’s poorest communities live healthier, happier, longer lives. Too many of these kids are sick, lonely, abused, dying. We believe each one is loved and valued by God. No child should be forgotten. Why? Because we believe that a whole world needs everyone. No one should be forgotten. So together with Canadians like you, we fight for equal access to school and to jobs for people with disabilities in developing countries. Together with you, we give healing hugs to kids in need – giving medical and rehabilitative care that heals young bodies and mends broken hearts. Together with you we share God’s love with the most vulnerable children and families on the planet.

  • Happy first day of the fourth week of Advent! This week, we celebrate the JOY of salvation—the profound joy that Jesus brings into our lives. He entered the world as our Saviour and the Light of the World, bringing hope and joy to God's people. This is the joy we can share with the children we serve - children caught in the cycle of poverty and disability. As we prepare for Christmas, let us rejoice in the beautiful gift of salvation that Jesus has given us and the opportunity to bring hope to those in need. What a wonderful reason to celebrate this Christmas! 🎄❤️ #Advent #Joy #Salvation #HopeAndHealing

  • "No matter what little we can do, we need to do it. Every little bit of help is needed, large or small. Donating, praying, serving, loving… lives can be changed." Our Donor Services Supervisor, Donna, recently visited Malawi for the first time to witness the incredible impact of our work. She saw firsthand the compassion of doctors like Dr. Leonard Banza, who deeply cares for his patients, and the joy of the Nkhoma Eye Clinic staff receiving much-needed scrubs. Donna also met Dr. Gie and her team from Interplast, who are dedicated to making a difference. But amidst all this hope, she also saw the tough realities—poor living conditions and the struggles children with disabilities and their families face every day. This trip deepened Donna’s understanding of just how critical our work is. It was a powerful reminder that the support of every donor and staff member is much needed to transform lives. From providing medical care to children in desperate need to offering hope and dignity to families, every action—no matter how small—contributes to creating a brighter future. This experience renewed her commitment to our mission, knowing that together, we are making a lasting difference. #BehindTheScenes #TransformingLives #GivingBackMatters

  • Today is International Human Solidarity Day, a reminder of our shared humanity and the power of coming together for a common cause. At Hope and Healing International, we believe that no one organization can break the cycle of poverty and disability. We need to work together in solidarity so children caught in this cycle can thrive. Together, we can break barriers, advocate for inclusive opportunities, and provide essential care and support to those in need.💖🤝 #HumanSolidarityDay #HopeAndHealing #TogetherWeCan

  • “I would see pictures of little children about [my granddaughter's] age and think about how terrible it must feel to not have the means to provide food, shelter and medicine for them. I want to help as many people as possible care for their families.” – Kim Barnes Thank you, Kim, for standing alongside children with disabilities and families in need for over 40 years! When we asked Kim what drives his support, he shared a heartfelt story. After losing his job, he experienced financial uncertainty and understood the struggle families face when providing for their children. Now, as a grandparent, his love for his grandchild motivates him even more to help vulnerable children worldwide. Kim, your compassion and faithfulness makes a profound difference.❤️ #HopeAndHealing #SupporterSpotlight #ThankfulThursday

  • Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating Brenda Ben's retirement as Board Chair, recognizing her 10 years of dedicated service to Hope and Healing International, including the past 4 years as Chair. Her expertise as a Chartered Professional Accountant and her experience in the insurance sector provided invaluable insight that strengthened our mission. Brenda’s impact went beyond her professional knowledge—she made time to visit our partners, meet the children we serve, and connect with their caregivers. Her passion for finding bold solutions to break the cycle of poverty and disability for vulnerable children has left a lasting legacy. We are deeply grateful for Brenda's years of leadership, support, and commitment. Thank you, Brenda, for all you have done to make a difference in the lives of children and families around the world. ❤️ #HopeAndHealing #CommunityImpact

  • Today, as we begin the third week of Advent, we reflect on the powerful theme of love. God's love is so immense that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to show us what true love means. No matter what we do or don’t do, His love remains constant and unshakable. This is the love we strive to share with children living with disabilities in the world’s poorest communities. With your help, we are showing God’s unfailing love in action by caring for their physical needs. Thank you for showing God's love. #Advent #WeekOfLove #AdventReflections

  • This Christmas, you can be the difference between life and death for a precious newborn. In the first 30 days of life, babies need critical care, but many hospitals in Sub-Saharan Africa lack the equipment to provide it. With a gift of just $40, you can help ship essential medical equipment, ensuring these little ones receive the care they need to survive and thrive. We’re partnering with Canada Masq Corporation to make this possible, bringing hope and healing to some of the world’s poorest communities. Give a baby the best start in life today! ❤️ https://lnkd.in/g-kEHCqq #HopeForNewborns #ChristmasGiving #MakeADifference
