Twelve years ago, Jason Pereira joined Govan Brown, fresh from George Brown College. Today we are proud to announce his appointment to Senior Vice President, Operations. Jason has contributed to GB in a number of ways – as a Project Management Assistant to SVP, Operations. Jason began at Govan Brown as part of a team renovating an 11,200sf yoga studio and recently led the largest TI project in Canada, CIBC SQUARE. Jason joined Govan Brown with a work ethic that has become his signature. Jason has made each role his own, continuously growing his technical and operational acumen. Over the course of his decade-plus at Govan Brown, Jason has grown to embody our organization’s values while also helping to shape them. And while he’s led many of our landmark projects, it’s his championing of his teammates that has ensured we embody our promise to build differently. Consistent across his twelve years at Govan Brown is his dedication to operational efficiency, a strong sense of camaraderie amongst team members, and offering an outside the box perspective. Today, Govan Brown Building Group (GBBG) joined Toronto city leaders to celebrate and kick off construction of 11 Brock, the newest supportive housing project meant to help alleviate homelessness in the city. The first ground up build of this housing initiative, GBBG has worked alongside our partners—SvN Architects + Planners and Parkdale Activity-Recreation Centre (PARC)—to create a mass timber, all-electric building that achieves net zero and low embodied carbon goals.
