We’re thrilled to kick off preparations for this year’s International Women’s Day #YYJ event and are seeking sponsorship partners who share our commitment to gender equality. Our second annual International Women’s Day event builds on last year’s success. With the theme "Accelerate Action," we aim to inspire change and empower women through: 💃Influential Speakers 💼Dynamic Workshops 👄Engaging Panels & Discussions Together with Women in Leadership Foundation (Heather van Munster, PMP, CEC and Julie Potter), WNORTH, CHIWARACO (Assetou Coulibaly), GIRLBOSS UVic (Christina Compton and Meher Tahiliani), and Island Women in Science & Technology (iWIST) (Oluwapelumi Ogeroju PMP®. PSM®. PRINCE2®), we’re creating an impactful experience to advance equity and amplify women’s voices. Why Sponsor? Achieving gender parity could take 134 years at the current pace. Sponsoring this event lets you: ✊Showcase your commitment to equality. ☄️Support leaders driving change. 🏆Empower women in workplaces and communities. No one asked but here’s what I’m thinking about this IWD, instagram dump style: When Barbie didn’t get nominated, it was a massive feminist issue. It completely overshadowed huge wins for women of colour who were nominated (yay!), and women of colour who were not (boo). Prime example of white feminism overlooking women of colour. As much as I want women to be able to affect all the change we want, we need some help from the men (ugh). Grateful to work at a company and under a partner that acknowledges the lack of gender diversity at the top and will sit and have conversations with me (a literal intern) about it. I think he gets it from his badass daughter. Women are always shoved into this role of teacher, having to teach men the difficulties of being a woman. Women of colour have it far worse, having to teach about their intersecting identities. Thankfully, my partner always reads and learns from what I’m reading, currently it’s Bad Feminist by Roxanne Gay. The difference between being a boss and being bossy is being a woman. Obviously we all love women, but as well as celebrating what should be celebrated every day, let’s take some time to reflect on our own intersecting identities as women. Not all women are created equal, or are granted the same privileges. We don’t rise until we all do. Okay done. No time for strategically places emojies today. Go give the women in your life some love and appreciation today, and for the foreseeable future.

Sydney Sweeney's Ford campaign is a marketing masterstroke. Ford was looking to reach a wider female audience. And the association with Sydney is so spot on, you'd think why no one thought of it before. So here's what people don't know. Apart from being a giant star, Sydney is also a legit car mechanic. Her social media is filled with videos of her working on vintage cars. And her most prized possession? A 1969 Ford Bronco which she restored herself. In a world where less than 3% mechanics are females, Ford's association with her not only breaks stereotypes but remains 100% authentic while doing so. Not only that, it also brings with it the star power and social media reach of Sydney Sweeney. - Reaches the female audience, check. - Does it at scale, check. - 100% authentic in its communication, check.
