What if the "small inconveniences" in your day—waiting for water to come back on or deciding what’s for dinner—weren’t inconveniences at all, but reminders of privileges many don’t have? For people experiencing homelessness, these everyday comforts are dreams still out of reach. The warmth of a bed, the choice of a meal, or even a safe place to rest—none of it is guaranteed. At Fred Victor, we work to change that. Every day, we help people rebuild their lives, offering access to food, shelter, and the support needed to find stability. Take a moment to read this and reflect—and let your gratitude inspire action to help someone in need today. Read now: https://lnkd.in/gV5KqfA5

📣 Important Update This is a critical time for our fundraising efforts, as over 3,000 people rely on Fred Victor’s programs and services every day. With colder weather settling in and the number of people experiencing homelessness in Toronto estimated at 12,000, we know even more people will need urgent access to shelter, food, and health supports. Due to the ongoing Canada Post strike, our outreach efforts have been significantly impacted and many of our supporters are unable to send their donations through traditional methods. As a result, our donations are down. How you can help: 💻 Donate Online – The fastest way to make an impact is by donating securely at www.fredvictor.org. Your contribution will help us meet the urgent needs of our community and ensure no one is left behind this winter. Thank you for supporting Fred Victor and helping us rebuild lives during this challenging time. ❤️

Let’s come together to help our fellow Torontonians rebuild their lives and find stability. Thank you to Breakfast Television for having our CEO, Keith Hambly, on this morning to shed light on this critical issue and discuss how we can work together to create lasting change. Let’s make a difference, together. 💛 #EndHomelessness #Toronto #FredVictor #Donate

Today, On National Housing Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the importance of safe, stable and affordable housing for all, Fred Victor launched a powerful guerilla marketing campaign to highlight a heartbreaking truth: 12,000 Torontonians will be homeless this holiday season. To make this crisis impossible to ignore, Fred Victor popped up tents decorated in the holiday spirit in unexpected public places across Toronto. We hope that the dissonance between holiday decor and people’s lived realities serves as a stark reminder to Torontonians that we must take urgent action. This campaign isn’t just about seeing homelessness — it's about understanding solutions are possible. We can’t just turn our heads and expect the issue to resolve on its own. The pathway out of homelessness is clear: Housing First. With 25+ locations across the city, Fred Victor helps more than 3,000 people daily through shelters, affordable housing, mental health support, employment training, and more. We support over 3,000 people daily with with safe shelter, food and other services. 778 people and families live in safe, permanent affordable housing across Fred Victor housing locations. Last year alone, 447 people moved from homelessness into permanent homes. We go beyond emergency response and work towards helping people rebuild their lives. Just last week, we started moving 51 people into Dunn House, Toronto’s first-ever social medicine-supportive housing initiative. This holiday season, Fred Victor strives to raise $500,000 to continue providing critical services and create more pathways out of homelessness. Your donation can make a direct impact, helping more people find stability and a place to call home. Together, we can solve this. Donate today to support Fred Victor’s critical work. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/geNvGD-h DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT! Every dollar you give will have double the impact this holiday season. All gifts made by December 31st, 2024 will be matched by Moez & Marissa Kassam Foundation.
