FortisAlberta is pleased to support Little Sprouts Childcare Center in Lac La Biche with a donation to help with their mandate of nurturing each child's unique potential. Recently, two of our Power Line Technicians stopped by the center to see firsthand the amazing work being done. Whether young or old, we believe in supporting the well-being of every individual in the communities we serve. #thelinethatconnectsusall

At FortisAlberta, we believe in the power of giving back to our communities. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to support our employees who volunteer their time and skills to organizations that matter to them. Whether it's mentoring youth, supporting environmental causes or helping those in need, our team is making a difference every day. On this #InternationalVolunteerDay, we celebrate the dedication of our employees who volunteer and the positive impact they have, both within and beyond our organization.

We recently joined the Town of Okotoks at their annual Light Up Okotoks celebration. As part of the festivities, we suspended a giant mistletoe from one of our bucket trucks to see if we could generate some more sparks to add to the display! Thanks to all who braved the cameras to share a smooch with their loved ones. If you see one of our trucks in your community over the holidays, even if it doesn't have a mistletoe, know that our local crews are there to help spread the love by keeping your lights on! 🎄 💋 💛 #TheLineThatConnectsUsAll

The holidays are supposed to be a time of giving, but as we know all too well, it’s a prime time for scammers to try taking by any means. At this time of year, be on the lookout for malicious package delivery emails or product offers that seem too good to be true. Criminals also try to impersonate service providers you’d typically see out in your community on any given day. Recently, a customer reported getting a call from someone claiming to be from FortisAlberta asking for payment for their meter exchange. The customer did the right thing by refusing and immediately calling us at 310-WIRE (9473) to confirm the legitimacy of the call. It was indeed a scam. Note that FortisAlberta will never request payment for a standard meter exchange. If you receive any suspicious call, email or visit from someone claiming to be from FortisAlberta, don’t share any personal information and always call us to report and confirm. Thanks and be safe and aware this holiday season!

This #GivingTuesday, we celebrate the power of giving and collective effort to strengthen our communities. FortisAlberta is proud to have invested over $1,000,000 in our communities this year. Through our Lights of Joy Campaign, we are contributing $143,400 to 70 food banks and $24,330 to the 17 women's shelters located in our service territory.

Our local crews have been busy over the past little while joining neighbours in festive parades in Town of Westlock, Athabasca and Town of Coaldale. What a great way to help usher in the holiday season! 🎄💛 #community

For 365 days a year, the staff at Ronald McDonald House in City of Red Deer shine bright by providing a home away from home for Albertans whose children are being treated at Red Deer Regional Hospital. As a long-time supporter of the House, we love helping to shine a literal light every year by decorating the building for the holiday season. So proud to once again be part of Light the House! From all of us here at FortisAlberta, we wish you peace, joy and love throughout the holidays! #TheLineThatConnectsUsAll Ronald McDonald House Charities® Alberta
