  • Financial Literacy Month may be over, but in the spirit of this year’s theme “Money on your Mind. Talk about it!”, Financial Horizons is committed to continuing the conversation. We #StartedTheConversation with Financial Horizons team members by asking what financial literacy means to them and shared highlights from these conversations on our X platform last week. Check out the recap and join the conversation by telling us what financial literacy means to you: leave a comment below! #FH #FinancialHorizons #FinancialLiteracyMonthAndBeyond #BeginTheConversation #FinancialAdvisors Chris Desrochers Micheline Rogina Alan Yescas Nina Kavalinas

  • Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This year, the United Nation’s theme for the day is "Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future” - something that we at Financial Horizons support and encourage. Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities – and promoting inclusivity in leadership in general - is crucial to the equality and well-being of the workplace society. It brings diverse experiences and perspectives to the table, helping to create a more accessible, dignified world in which everyone can not only participate, but thrive. #FinancialHorizons #DisabilityDay #IDPD

  • We’re excited to introduce our new Emerging Leaders’ study group – a group of highly growth-focused advisors who want to continue growing and contribute to the lasting strength and success of their practice. Our first event was held this week in Toronto where the inaugural group of advisors gained knowledge and developed skills in proven areas of advisor success. There is tremendous value in connection and sharing with like-minded advisors. That’s what this week’s event was all about: Creating the opportunity to collaborate with others in similar career stages who are also focused on their growth, development and being a part of the industry’s future. Thank you to everyone who joined us this week. We’re honoured to be partnering with you. #FH #FinancialHorizons #HighNetWorth #Financialadvisors

  • This Financial Literacy Month (FLM) has focused on the importance of starting the conversation about finances. Bringing finances into everyday dialogue helps increase not only your clients’ financial literacy, but also that of your family, friends and colleagues. Now that we’ve provided you with tools and resources to help initiate and navigate these conversations, it’s time to consider a final audience to whom the topic of finances can prove crucial: young people. Hidden among today’s youth are tomorrow’s financial advisors. As a financial expert, you have the unique opportunity to pass down your knowledge to the next generation and influence their relationship with money. This month, and every month, be the one to begin money conversations with the young people in your life. If you’re not sure where to start, the website below is a great place. Built for teachers, it provides you with age-appropriate lesson themes, videos and discussion topics for youth. https://lnkd.in/gE7-gp6E #FH #FinancialHorizons #FinancialLiteracyMonth #BeginTheConversation #FinancialAdvisors

  • Canada’s ecosystem directly impacts its citizens’ finances. Today, our country’s current economy is a stress point for many Canadians as they try to navigate their finances in uncertain times. The constant flux of the economy can make the already-challenging topic of finances even more difficult to discuss for many, as it can seem impossible to stay up to date on its endless moving and shifting elements. Plus, as impactful and relevant as the economy may be to all our lives, it’s not an issue anyone can escape or solve, which can be a discouraging reality. As advisors, that’s one of the many reasons you’re essential in your clients’ financial lives. The economy is always going to be in flux, and while this can’t be changed, it can be planned for through financial education and discussion. Instead of trying to do the impossible - changing the economy - let’s focus on how your clients can be not only fine, but successful, in an unpredictable and ever-changing economy. Having conversations and educating clients on their finances now can help them to remain steady when the economy inevitably shifts later. Here are some budgeting tools to help simplify the conversation and empower your clients to become more financially literate by taking control of their finances. https://lnkd.in/dBDyJf3Y #FH #FinancialHorizons #FinancialLiteracyMonth #BeginTheConversation #FinancialAdvisors

  • One of the many ways Financial Horizons is committed to helping advisors succeed is by providing them with a wide range of tools and resources. A team of experts and back-end support are just some of the ways we help you save time and simplify processes so your focus can stay on helping clients. You play a similar role for your clients: as their financial expert, you help to simplify complex financial topics and processes. But you can’t be with all your clients at once. In Monday’s Financial Literacy Month (FLM) post, we explored how many Canadians aren’t comfortable or confident discussing the nuanced world of finances - so here are some helpful tools and resources to help start the conversation and guide your clients through financial processes and decisions. With knowledge comes confidence, and this FLM, we want to help build a nation of money-confident, financially literate Canadians. The first step: As financial professionals, let’s normalize talking about finances by starting the conversation with clients and beyond. https://lnkd.in/gpECVJG #FH #FinancialHorizons #FinancialLiteracyMonth #BeginTheConversation #FinancialAdvisors

  • With the start of November comes Financial Literacy Month (FLM). From one group of financial experts to another, we wish you a happy FLM and wish to recognize the hard work and passion you put into helping Canadians with all things financial. This year’s FLM theme is “Money on your Mind. Talk about it!”, emphasizing the importance of bringing finances into everyday conversation.  While this may seem comfortable for advisors, finances can be a difficult or uncomfortable conversation for many Canadians. However, talking about finances is crucial: it builds confidence, encourages people to as questions and to seek advice, leading to a more financially literate Canada. As financial experts, #FHadvisors play an important role in these conversations – bringing the value of advice, knowledge and experience. While it can be a difficult topic to navigate due to its complexity and stigma, advisors have a unique opportunity to open the door to discussion with your clients, family and friends. Over the course of the month, we’ll be posting financial tools and resources that can help simplify what can feel like an overwhelming topic for many. We encourage you to re-share any of these from which your audience could benefit.  As a proud partner in advisor success, we’re here to begin the conversation about the topic we know best: finances. https://lnkd.in/gEJwDFCA #FH #FinancialHorizons #FinancialLiteracyMonth #BeginTheConversation #FinancialAdvisors

Designing tax and wealth strategies to reduce government interference in your life

Marena and I have been incredibly grateful to partner with a company that not only conducts business in an innovative way, but also fosters meaningful connections and educational opportunities among like-minded, highly respected financial advisors across Canada. We were honoured to attend the Financial Horizons #HighNetWorth advisor event—designed specifically for advisors who offer bespoke solutions to high-net-worth clients. The event was truly first-class, with every speaker sharing valuable insights that we’re excited to implement in our practice. We also enjoyed a few personal days in Chicago, taking time to explore the city and reflect on the key takeaways from an inspiring experience.

  • Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most popular festivals in India and around the globe. Beginning today, the celebration coincides with the dark side of the lunar month and symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness. Houses are decorated with lights and the five-day festival includes fireworks, feasts and prayers. To everyone celebrating, we wish you a bright and happy Diwali! #Diwali2024 #FinancialHorizons
