As our outstanding Medventions fellows approach the final week of their journey, we want to take a moment to celebrate the progress they’ve made in addressing real-world challenges in healthcare. This week, we also had the honor of welcoming Stephen Lucas, CEO of Mitacs, to the Nova Scotia Health Innovation Hub to showcase the transformative projects our fellows have been working on. Thank you to Mitacs for their continued support and partnership. Your dedication to fostering innovation and developing talent is invaluable. Medventions is a four-month, physician-led program designed to teach students and fellows how to advance patient care through technology. This initiative exemplifies true collaboration among the Nova Scotia Health Innovation Hub, Sunnybrook Research Institute, Dalhousie University, and Dal Innovates, made possible by the generous support of INOVAIT Canada, Mitacs, and the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Today is Giving Tuesday, and Dalhousie aims to raise $90,000 for The Food Security Project! This year, each gift will essentially be tripled thanks to the J & W Murphy Foundation and a personal matching gift from a loyal Dalhousie alum. Your donation will help to fund the DSU food bank, as well as aid in renovations that would add fridges, freezers, a food prep area, and food literacy programming.
