Earlier this month, more than 250 COSTI staff from 19 locations gathered at The Ismaili Centre, Toronto for our annual holiday party—and what a celebration it was! The event was brimming with joy, laughter and festive spirit, as colleagues came together to celebrate the incredible work accomplished in 2024. The afternoon was all about connection, with staff mingling beyond their divisions and strengthening our one-team spirit. A special highlight of the day was the United Way Greater Toronto prize draw, where three generous and lucky donors walked away with fabulous prizes. But the excitement didn’t stop there—our fundraiser raffle had everyone on the edge of their seats, with coveted prizes like Apple AirPods and Bose speakers up for grabs! And what’s a holiday party without a little something sweet? Many attendees left with chocolates to add a festive touch to the season. As we wrap up 2024, this celebration reminded us of what makes COSTI special: a passionate team committed to creating meaningful change. Here’s to even greater impact in 2025! On International Migrants Day, we celebrate the resilience, courage, and contributions of newcomers to Canada. Their determination enriches our communities, strengthens our economy, and shapes a diverse and inclusive society. Since the 1950s, COSTI has supported newcomers in their journey to integrate and thrive. From welcoming individuals at Toronto's Union Station to offering a comprehensive range of services today, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of newcomers. Our programs encompass education, employment, and services tailored for women, children and seniors, ensuring equitable opportunities for all. Last year alone, we served approximately 40,000 newcomers through over 200,000 service engagements, helping families build brighter futures and contribute meaningfully to our collective prosperity. We are proud to support newcomers, empowering them to achieve their dreams while fostering a stronger, more vibrant Canada for everyone.
