Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce reposted this
The Government of Canada has announced a temporary GST/HST “Holiday Tax Break” for the 2024-2025 holiday season from December 14 to February 15 on a number of items purchased in Canada. This means no GST or HST will be charged to consumers or remitted to the Canada Revenue Agency by businesses on qualifying items sold during this time. The Cape Breton Partnership has compiled available information and developed this infographic to share some key details about this change to the GST and HST this Holiday Season. The Cape Breton Partnership will also work with local business community partners to offer a workshop in early 2025 to share further resources and help the business community navigate this temporary change to sales tax. Stay tuned as information is made available on this future workshop.
