Spacing matters! Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at one of our solar projects under construction, taken on October 11th at 1 PM. Our approach carefully considers the balance between solar performance and client objectives. The most important criteria for our client was maximizing the diesel reduction. This guided every single decision, down to details like the spacing between the solar panels. The spacing between rows is calculated to prevent shadowing from mid-March to mid-October, maximizing solar generation during the months when sunlight is most abundant. This level of precision ensures that our renewable energy projects meet the client's energy needs throughout the year, delivering a dependable and sustainable energy solution. Andrew will be a key player in supporting the startup, health & safety, and ongoing operations of solar energy facilities. He’ll also dive into community energy planning, helping guide feasibility studies and implementation projects, while analyzing generation data to ensure optimal performance. His 16 years of experience in wind energy pre-construction and operations will be invaluable as we work to deliver sustainable, resilient energy systems. Outside of work, Andrew is an avid outdoors enthusiast who thrives in all four seasons of beautiful Western Quebec. Whether it’s teaching kids about renewables, electrifying his family’s rural property, or growing food to support native ecosystems, Andrew lives and breathes sustainability. Great news for Indigenous communities in the NWT! 🎉 Representatives of 22 Indigenous Governments, the Government of Canada, the Government of the Northwest Territories, and private donors have signed an agreement to fund Indigenous-led conservation, stewardship, and economic development across the Northwest Territories. 3EYOND Consulting and Selkirk Development Corporation are excited to collaborate with the Demand-Side-Management Working Group—comprising Yukon Electric Corporation, Yukon Development Corporation, ATCO Electric Yukon, and the Yukon Government—on a Peak Demand Impact Study of Electrification of Heating and Transportation. This important study will explore how the electrification of heating and transportation services affects peak electricity demand and generation in both integrated-grid and isolated-grid communities. The technologies investigated are electric vehicles, air-source heat pumps, and electric thermal storage.
