🔍President and CEO Manabu Chikumoto visited the Hiratsuka and Tsurumi sites of the Kanto Plant and held talk sessions with employees. Hiratsuka manufactures products such as a composite of resin films and metal laminates used in power module and automotive parts, high-barrier PET bottles, engineering plastics, and water tanks. Tsurumi, on the other hand, produces acrylamide, which is used as a raw material for water treatment flocculants and paper strengthening agents, and semiconductor-related materials such as photosensitive polymers for photoresists and antistatic agents.🏭 During the talk sessions, President Chikumoto encouraged further growth by leveraging our technological and developmental strengths cultivated in wide-ranging business fields such as electronics, mobility, food, and construction. He also encouraged everyone to prioritize safety and compliance.📢 Here’s a quote from President Chikumoto: I sincerely appreciate your daily efforts to ensure stable operations and productivity. However, the most important thing we must protect is human life. Always prioritize your safety to avoid causing grief to yourself, your family, and friends. If you sense any danger, immediately stop what you’re doing and ensure that you act with safety as the top priority. Let’s ensure safety and compliance and build a workplace together where everyone can work with peace of mind and security. #MitsubishiChemicalGroup #MCGLeadership #SafetyFirst

📝 #MCGExhibitionReport 📝 Thank you to everyone who visited the #MitsubishiChemicalGroup’s booth at #ChemicalMaterialJapan 2024❗️ We introduced a variety of materials and technologies at our booth. Among them, BioPTMG and POM-PTMG were well-received for their exhibits with the themes of making products that require flexibility bio-based or highly functional and contributing to CO2 reduction and realizing a #CircularEconomy.🌱♻️ POM-PTMG (developed grade), a raw material polyol for rubber-like resin that is easy to handle in room-temperature liquid form and maintains flexibility in cold regions, was shown for the first time and attracted a great deal of attention.✨ It is expected to improve the performance of products like paints, adhesives, and transparent rubber. Furthermore, visitors had the opportunity to examine a tonto brand bio-based synthetic leather bag made with #BioPTMG. This material received high praise from visitors for its durability, including resistance to hydrolysis and fungus. Additionally, it was lauded for its high transparency and stable color despite being plant-derived.💼 President and CEO Manabu Chikumoto also gave a keynote talk about our new management vision, KAITEKI Vision 35.🎤📊 Thank you to all who participated. 🏃We held the 2024 #BladeAthleteAcademy, a running workshop put on by para-athletes.🏃 11 participants who use prosthetic legs received the two-day course from #ParaAthletes, including Atsushi Yamamoto, the Asian record holder in the parasports men's long jump (prosthetic T63), who retired from the sport in May.🦿✨ Participants received detailed instructions from para-athletes on how to use their torsos and the characteristics of sports prosthetics. They gradually got used to the sports prostheses, moving from walking to running and incorporating sports games like basketball. Throughout the course, participants shared their impressions, like “This is the fastest I’ve run in my life” and “It was happy to get to consult about my concerns about daily life with my prosthetic leg.” It was a very fulfilling two days!🌞 #MCG_CSR #MitsubishiChemicalGroup

President and CEO Manabu Chikumoto visited our Kagawa Plant in Japan and held a talk session.🏭 The Kagawa Plant began manufacturing coke for ironworks in 1969. It has since expanded its business area to products such as needle coke for electrode materials used in electric furnaces, carbon fiber, and anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. As the demand for #SustainableMaterials accelerates, the plant is also studying the #ChemicalRecycling of end-of-life tires utilizing coke ovens.💡♻️ 💬 Here’s a quote from Chikumoto at the talk session: In order to maximize a business’s potential for sustainable growth, it’s important not only to think carefully but also to take action. In an era when the pace of change is accelerating more and more, it’s vital to have a “let's try first” attitude. As we are studying the chemical recycling of end-of-life tires, I look forward to opening up new possibilities with all of you.💪✨ #MitsubishiChemicalGroup #MCGLeadership #SiteVisit
