  • Our goal is to build 500 New Standard Stores between 2025 and 2027 in the US. 🏪    The "New Standard Stores" that 7-Eleven, Inc. will build through store expansion initiatives will significantly improve on the performance of the existing store network. Data shows that our New Standard Stores outperform the existing portfolio by 13% in the first year and 47% in the fourth year.    These stores apply what we have learned from the "Evolution Stores" that we have operated in recent years. By incorporating food-forward facilities, larger stores, fuel offerings, and digital innovation that enable frictionless shopping, the New Standard Stores are expected to increase sales and traffic, and additionally deliver a superior customer experience.    The New Standard Stores are the result of our ongoing commitment to meeting customer needs through proprietary products, digital & delivery and store simplification.

  • 7-Eleven stores in Japan are embracing digital technology to save time and deliver an even better experience to our customers. Here are just three examples of where our investment into digital experiences has substantially cut the amount of time staff have had to spend on routine tasks: 1) Our self-cashout systems save 90 minutes per day. 2) A new, automated product inspection system saves a further 25 minutes per day. 3) AI-assisted ordering saves staff another 32 minutes per day. By reducing the workload on our staff in these areas, they have more time to spend on adding value to customers and providing even greater levels of service. Across the Seven & i Holdings Group, we continue to look for innovative ways to help us improve productivity and build sustainable business operations. #DigitalTransformation #RetailInnovation

Congratulations to everyone in our team and from our supplier partners who were involved in giving our Tarneit North in Melbourne’s western suburbs a new look and a new range.   Tarneit North is our first store to pilot our Retailer Initiative, which is our store-based approach to selecting, forecasting and merchandising the right products, at the right time, in the right quantity to meet the needs of local neighbourhoods. The store has an expanded range with approximately 2,900 products, including products suited to the local demographics.  The store is also offering our customers bake-in-store pastries, chicken, chips and burgers alongside our well known and loved food on the go offerings. Pizza by the slice to be added at the end of January. We are working with our supplier partners to provide our customers with more reasons to shop with us throughout the day for more needs and occasions as we work to achieve our ambition to be my convenient neighbourhood store for every Australian.

  • Supporting children’s healthy development is important to us! 🛝✨ The PEP Kids Koriyama is an indoor facility run by Koriyama City in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. Centered around the concept of "PLAY, LEARN and GROW," it is a safe space for children to move around and play freely. York-Benimaru has cooperated with this project since its establishment, just nine months after the Great East Japan Earthquake. This cooperation has been part of our efforts to help revitalize the local community. Some of the programs are offered for free, allowing the establishment to be accessible to all families and children. Under the supervision of Play Leaders, the PEP Kids Koriyama facilities is a one of a kind playground and community service for the people of Fukushima. #LocalCommunity #Fukushima

  • Our Curry Bread has set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title!🥇 Between January and December 2023, our freshly made curry bread sold 76,987,667 units at 7-Eleven stores in Japan. That has been certified with the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title of best-selling freshly made curry bread brand (current). This is the first time that 7-Eleven has received a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title in Japan. What has made it so popular with consumers? The curry bread is stuffed with a unique roux made rich with several spices and then simmered slowly to develop its flavors. Once prepared, it is fried in-store and served fresh to customers. Since its debut in 2021, it has received excellent reviews for its crispy texture and fresh taste. Recently, there has been increasing customer demand for in-store prepared products, and Seven-Eleven Japan remains dedicated to meeting these needs by offering new, exciting and exclusive freshly made items. #GuinnessWorldRecords

Our digital Run, Lead & Grow My Store learning program for our store leaders and our Learning and Growth team were recognised at the international LearnX Awards held in Melbourne recently. The LearnX awards celebrate innovation, digitally enabled learning, and overall excellence in learning and development across the corporate, education, public and not-for-profit sectors. Our team collected three Platinum Awards (Best Leadership Development, Best eLearning Project, Best Learning Design Team) and two Diamond (Best Induction/Onboarding, Best Blended Learning) LearnX awards – an extraordinary effort for their work to support our store leaders. The capability of the people who lead and run our stores is the cornerstone of achieving our ambition of every Australian saying 7-Eleven is my convenient neighbourhood store. So, to be recognised for our work in supporting store leaders to enhance their capabilities is an extraordinary foundation on which to make our growth strategy a success. Congratulations to everyone in the Learning and Growth team and across the business who has contributed to this moment of extraordinary recognition.

  • Since 2020, Ito-Yokado has been running an initiative to allow elementary school students to participate in a work experience tour. Over this summer, approximately 120 Ito-Yokado and York stores across Japan participated in this program. For the kids, it's an exciting day. After changing into their uniforms, they get to explore areas usually only accessible to employees. The refrigerated storage areas were of particular interest. They then get to help with customer service - for example, offering watermelon samples to shoppers. Not only does this provide a meaningful experience for the students, but the employees enjoy welcoming the participants, and parents love giving this experience to their children - it's an event that brings smiles to all involved. Ito-Yokado started this initiative as part of its 100th anniversary celebration, and the workplace experience tour will continue on as an initiative to spread happiness among the community and help children gain valuable experiences. #LocalCommunities #Retail

  • 2.4 million donuts in two weeks: Our newest food innovation is a hit with customers! 🍩✨ This September, we began selling freshly made donuts at 7-Eleven stores in Tokyo and neighboring areas. They come in three flavors (maple, chocolate and custard) and have proven to be a popular match with SEVEN CAFÉ coffee. What has made them an instant favorite with customers? It partly has to do with the process we use, which allows us to serve them hot and fresh in-store. The dough is made from scratch and flash-frozen before being delivered straight from the factory. It is then fried fresh and served hot. The donuts also come with a packet of sugar garnish that allows customers to control how sweet it is to their individual tastes. Following the success of these donuts, we will be making them available in more locations across Japan over time. #Donuts #7Eleven

  • #AI is making our air conditioning smarter! 🧠 Ito-Yokado is jointly introducing a new and innovative AI Smart Air Conditioning System developed by Kobe University to its stores. Through the use of AI, these systems can analyze and learn from customer flow, and use that data to optimize energy use. For example, the system can adjust cooling and heating to target higher human traffic and save on energy. The system has been tested at the Hachioji store in Tokyo since January, and it has achieved a 40% reduction in energy consumption. By deploying these systems to approximately 70 stores, we expect to be able to reduce CO2 emissions by around 22,000 tons. This is another example of how Ito-Yokado strives to be a trusted company and contribute to a sustainable society through collaborations with academic institutions.
