As we prepare for another year of impact, we can't help but reflect back on how far we've come. While we faced immense challenges, 2024 was a year of impact and with your help, we were able to help countless animals who need it most. We wanted to share a few words from our Founder, Dana as a thank-you: 2024 was full of emotion at ROLDA, especially as we approach our 20th anniversary! My heart fills with pride seeing everything we have achieved at ROLDA over the last 2 decades. There are so many people that I am exceptionally grateful to, who have all played an integral role in helping us get to where we are - our caretakers who work around the clock to help the animals we save, our international team that has grown significantly this year, and all of the people who have stood by me, including my parents who helped me set my values and principles. While working in animal rescue can be emotionally grueling, in many ways, it also helps me bear the world, and I am forever grateful to our supporters who have enabled us to do this noble work for almost 2 decades. Mala, is a dog rescued by Inessa in Ukraine who faced paralysis and underwent surgery in hope of recovery. Despite the initial optimism, the clinic's mishandling of therapy led to a deterioration in Mala's condition, undoing any progress made. Inessa, deeply concerned for Mala's well-being, made the difficult decision to transfer her to a specialized clinic equipped with advanced treatments. At the new clinic, Mala received tailored care including laser and water therapy, aimed at restoring her ability to walk. With perseverance and the expertise of the specialized clinic, Mala embarked on a journey towards recovery, supported by Inessa's unwavering love and dedication. Meet Businka, a little dog who defied all odds and miraculously recovered after a tragic accident. Hit by a car, Businka was left paralyzed and spent a long week in a challenging environment surrounded by intoxicated individuals. Inessa, a compassionate local animal rescuer, stepped in to help. With dedicated care and love, Businka began her road to recovery. Despite the initial gloomy prognosis, Businka has made remarkable progress and continues to defy expectations. For sure you remember Chips, an incredible dog who was discovered by Robert in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Sadly, he had been shot in the front paw, and as a result, had to undergo an amputation. He has made a remarkable recovery and the wonderful news is that he will soon be traveling to his new family in Germany. He has been adopted by a loving family who also took in Martina, another dog from Ukraine who tragically lost her paw in a shelling incident. Thanks to the care she received in Germany, Martina now has prosthetics and is thriving.
