    Executive Communication

Our social business is growing. Last fiscal year 2023/24, at 6,236 eye camps in India and Nepal, 1.1 million people in underprivileged, suburban, and rural areas received eye exams and vision tests through our Aloka Vision Programme, with 101,000 glasses produced and delivered and 3,800 patients helped who needed non-refractive error treatment. We see patients as customers, not as beneficiaries. So, we called 33,401 of them 4-6 weeks after they received their glasses and asked about their customer satisfaction. More than 96% reported being happy or very happy. I think this follow-up is essential to learn how to improve, to ensure quality and to understand if our glasses are being used and are actually helpful in daily life, at work, and at school. What we learned years ago is that social business does not reach everyone; for example, at old age homes, orphanages, and for families below the poverty line, more support is needed. With our registered charity, through which colleagues, partners, and customers support our cause, we could fund eye and vision care for 35,000 underprivileged children. Thanks to our partners—this wouldn't work alone! Optometry Confederation of India, Lions Club, Makunda Hospital, and many more: thank you! Let's continue to grow our impact, build regular access to quality eye care, and give back to society. And thanks to Premjeeth and the Aloka Team! Great work. Thanks Lakshmi Shinde Premjeeth M. Rohan Paul Dr. Jasbeer Singh Sreeroop Ks Monika Rajendran Uday Kumar A R Petra Apelt (Will never forget how small we started 10 years ago – first month with 9 patients. But we learned, improved, scaled things up. Still an important lesson learned: listen carefully, learn a lot and then learn more, do better.)   #aloka #clearvisionforeveryone #ZEISS
