  • 🌟 "Programming of Preterm Babies" 🌟 Did you know that preterm babies are special and continue to be special as they grow? Their early arrival into the world, known as premature birth, changes their metabolic programming, and its impact can be seen many years later... Studies have shown that a baby’s metabolic and cardiovascular programming develops in the womb, and can be altered if they are born prematurely. This alteration has lifelong effects. For instance, small size at birth is linked to a higher risk of developing hypertension, coronary heart disease, and type 2 diabetes later in life. 📚 Preterm birth can double the risk of hypertension and increase the chance of developing type 2 diabetes by up to 60%. Even though preterm infants are lighter and thinner at full-term age (40 weeks postmenstrual age), they often have a higher body fat percentage and more intra-abdominal fat, which can persist into adulthood. ⚖️ These conditions—hypertension, diabetes, and increased abdominal fat—are significant risk factors for cardiovascular disease. This is why it’s crucial to tailor not only the early nutrition of preterm babies but also their ongoing nutrition as they grow. 🥗 At NeoWinn, we understand the unique needs of preterm babies and are committed to providing scientifically-proven products that support their healthy development at every stage. 💚 #PretermBabies #EarlyNutrition #HealthyGrowth #NeonatalCare #ParentingTips #NeoWinn #neonatology #neonatalnurses #NICU #prematurity #premmies #neonatologist Feel free to share and spread the word about the special care preterm babies need! 🌟👶

  • “Sugar-Kids” Anybody? 🍭👶 One of the most common misconceptions that new parents carry is that chubby babies are healthy babies. After all, who doesn’t love to tickle the chubby cheeks of a newborn! 😊 But this obsession with rapid weight gain can have its downsides. Excessive nutrition may lead to future health issues like obesity, diabetes, and hypertension! One common source of infant nutrition is formula. However, as highlighted in this recent 'Times of India' article, infant formulas may contain added sugars or hidden sugars like maltodextrin and corn syrup. 🍬 These sugars can pose serious health risks. The article emphasizes that restricting added sugar in babies' diets for the first 1000 days can reduce the risk of diabetes by 35% and hypertension by 20%. Interestingly, even WHO and ICMR recommend that infants below 2 years should not be given any sugar at all! 🚫🍬 At NeoWinn, we believe in the dictum: "Mother's milk is best; We are next." Our products are meticulously researched and scientifically proven to contain no added sugars or hidden sugars such as maltodextrin or corn syrup. 🍼✨ https://lnkd.in/g2ENbNZT Let’s ensure our little ones grow up healthy and strong! 🌟 #Health #Nutrition #InfantCare #SugarFree #NeoWinn #MotherKnowsBest #HealthyBabies #neowinnbiotech #NiQu #neonatology #neonatologist #NICU #nicunurses #nurse #infant #preterm Feel free to share and spread the word! 🌟👶💚

  • Frogs & Preterm Babies: A Surprising Connection! 🐸👶 Did you know that preterm babies and frogs share a fascinating trait? Both rely on their skin for essential gas exchange! 🌬️ 🚼 Preterm babies, born before 37 weeks, have skin that is highly permeable to oxygen. This critical feature helps regulate their oxygen levels, especially in those first fragile days when their lungs are still developing. According to a study published in Pediatrics (Versmold HT, Holzmann M, Linderkamp O, Riegel KP. Skin oxygen permeability in premature infants. Pediatrics, Oct;62(4):488-91) titled "Skin oxygen permeability in premature infants," this ability can be a lifesaver. Frogs, on the other hand, utilize their thin, moist skin to absorb oxygen and release carbon dioxide – a process called cutaneous respiration. This adaptation allows them to thrive in various environments, from ponds to forests. 🐸 The common thread here is adaptability and resilience. For preterm babies, practices like Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) leverage their skin’s unique properties, promoting better breathing and bonding through skin-to-skin contact. 💞 #PretermBabies #Frogs #KangarooCare #NeonatalCare #Nature #ScienceMagic #HealthcareHeroes #neonatology #NICU #nicunurses #neonatal

  • Sound, Light, Action !!! 🎬💡 The preterm baby is suddenly in the thick of things when it arrives early and faces the harsh light and sound of a busy NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). 👶Quite a shock for the baby, as it comes from the safe and protected environment of the womb, where the only sound that the baby could hear was the heartbeat of the mother. The constant beeping of machines, bright lights, and frequent medical interventions can overwhelm their delicate sensory systems. This environment, while life-saving, can potentially be detrimental to their neurodevelopment. 🏥 Preterm infants are at a higher risk for sensory overload, which can affect their brain development and long-term cognitive functions. Thus, it is crucial to create a more nurturing and protective environment for these tiny fighters. The following measure can go a long way in protecting these babies: Minimize Noise and Bright Lights 🎧 The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that the maximum safe noise level in a NICU should be 45 decibels (dB), which is equivalent to speaking in whispers. However, studies have shown that average noise levels in NICUs can range between 70 to 80 dB, which is significantly higher. 💡For illumination, the recommended levels vary depending on the time of day. During the day, a lighting level of 100-200 lux combined with natural light is ideal. At night, the maximum level should be 50 lux to support the baby's circadian rhythm and promote better sleep. Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC): Encouraging skin-to-skin contact between the baby and parents can provide comfort and promote brain development. 🦘❤️ Developmental Care Practices: Implementing practices like gentle touch, swaddling, and positioning can support sensory integration and neurodevelopment. 👶👐 Parental Involvement: Educating and involving parents in the care process can enhance bonding and provide emotional support for both the baby and the parents. 👨👩👧 #NICU #PretermBabies #Neurodevelopment #KangarooCare #ParentalSupport #Healthcare #Pediatrics #TinyWarriors #Neonatologist #nicunurses #neonatology #NiQu #prematurebabies #prematurity

Megha James "Bond". Yes, you read that right. Nurse Megha James was on duty when a fire engulfed Jhansi Hospital. Instead of running for safety, she ran toward the flames, risking her own life to save the most vulnerable—the newborns. Megha’s courage shone like a beacon of hope in a moment of chaos. With unwavering determination, she carried baby after baby to safety, her every step defying fear, her every act of bravery inspiring awe. Today, the world speaks of her heroism, but Megha’s actions remind us of something we often overlook: nurses are more than caregivers—they are protectors, warriors, and unsung heroes who put their lives on the line for others without a second thought. Megha is now recovering from her injuries, a testament to the incredible sacrifices nurses make every day. Her bravery will forever remain etched in our hearts, reminding us of the extraordinary humanity behind the uniform. We salute her courage and pray for her speedy recovery. Let us never forget the sacrifices our nurses make to keep us safe.

  • 🌍👶 World Prematurity Day 🌍👶 Today, on World Prematurity Day, we come together to raise awareness about the challenges faced by premature babies and their families. Premature birth is a leading cause of neonatal mortality, and every year, millions of babies are born too soon, facing significant health challenges. In light of the recent tragic incident at Rani Laxmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi, where a fire caused by an electrical short circuit claimed the lives of 10 newborns in the NICU, it's crucial to highlight the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of our little ones. Every baby deserves the best possible start in life, and it's our responsibility to provide them with the care and support they need. This year's theme, "Over 13 million babies born too soon every year, Access to QUALITY CARE everywhere," emphasizes the critical need for universal access to high-quality care for premature infants, underscoring the global impact of preterm births and the importance of equitable healthcare services. Let's stand together to support families of premature babies and advocate for improved neonatal care and safety measures. 💜👶 #WorldPrematurityDay #PrematureBabies #NeonatalCare #BabySafety #HealthcareAwareness #RaniLaxmiBaiMedicalCollege #Jhansi #QualityCareForAll #neonatologists #NICU #pretermbirth #neonatalnurses

  • 🚀 Brand-new Brand Launch! 🚀 Preterm babies need to “catch-up” on the growth that they miss out by arriving early, for which the major indicators are weight gain, length gain and head-circumference gain. 👶❤️ 🛡️But did you know, achieving growth which is too rapid is not good for the preterm babies? Of course, the best nutrition for the babies is mothers’ milk, but in absence of mothers milk the nutrition of the babies needs to be designed so that growth is achieved in a safe and effective way. Too much of protein to achieve growth can lead to excessive load on the fragile kidneys of the preterm baby resulting in renal and metabolic issues while too less protein can lead to growth faltering. Our market research revealed that 68% of the babies are discharged on high protein containing 'Preterm Formula' while 28% babies are discharged on low protein 'Stage-1 Formula', thus pointing towards a clear gap. 📚 To address these concerns, NeoWinn is proud to present the first “Post-Discharge Feed” for the babies, NiQu Advance PDF, which needs to be recommended while the baby is being discharged from the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), typically between the weight of 1600-1800 gm. NiQu Advance PDF is specially designed to act as a bridge between the high protein nutrition (Preterm Formula) that is provided while the baby is in NICU and the low protein nutrition (Stage-1 Formula) that is used at home. https://lnkd.in/g45i3NHz Multiple studies have proven the need for a transitional feed or post-discharge feed which helps the babies to transition smoothly from NICU to home. We are sure NiQu Advance PDF will receive all the love and affection of the parents whose babies are discharged from the NICU, as NiQu Advance PDF is what these babies need, in case mothers own milk is not available! 🌱 #NeoWinn #NiQuAdvancePDF #PretermCare #InnovationInNutrition #NICUToHome #HealthyBabies #neonatology #neonatologists #premmies #prematurebabies #NICU #nicunurses #postdischarge #neonates

  • Extremely interesting !

FUN FACT ❗ What do extremely low birth weight #preemies & frogs have in common? We knew this back in 1978 & we even have monitors to measure these gas levels in the skin! They both exchange CO2 &O2 through their skin but keratinization ruins that for babies in the days after birth. The bigger the baby at birth the less gas can pass through In infants with arterial PO2 values in the range of 50 to 100 torr and with similar skin temperatures, the mean surface PO2 of unheated skin was inversely related to birth weight: 27.2 torr in infants weighing less than 1,500 gm, 14.3 torr in infants weighing 1,500 to 2,500gm, and 2.9 torr in infants weighing more than 2,500 gm. https://lnkd.in/g69R2_yC #neonatology #nicu #neonatal #respiratorycare #pediatrics

  • One gram at a time! 💪👶 In the NICU, every single gram gained by the preterm baby is a victory, every breath a celebration! And these small victories are the one’s which hasten the preterm baby’s journey towards home.💖 For the preterm baby, healthy weight gain is a critical factor towards achieving optimum growth. And, of course the best nutrition for the babies is mothers’ milk however for the preterm babies, mothers’ milk alone is not enough and needs to be fortified. Preterm babies demand for nutrients and the quantity of nutrients in mothers’ milk have an inverse relationship, which means that as babies demand goes up the nutrients in mothers milk go down, as mothers milk matures. Recent evidence indicates that it is not only the quantity of protein which falls as mothers milk matures but other bioactive factors also fall, such as ·       HMOs (Human milk Oligosaccharides), which strengthen gut health and build immunity. ·       🔗Lactoferrin, an iron binding protein which also strengthens immunity. ·       Essential fatty acids such as DHA and ARA, which help in brain and eye development. 🧠 Based on such recent evidence modern human milk fortifiers, such as NiQu HMoF,  provide not only supplemental protein but also HMOs, Lactoferrin and DHA/ARA... https://lnkd.in/gQYZyFqN #NICUCare #PreemiePower #NeonatalNutrition #Motherhood #HealthcareInnovation #BabyMilestones #Neonatologist #NICU #NiQu #HMoF #nicunurses #preterm #premature #neonatology
