Under the esteemed leadership of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Urban Development Minister, and Chairman of MMRDA, Shri Eknath Shinde, and the focused supervision of the Hon'ble Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, MMRDA has signed four significant MoUs at the #WorldEconomicForum, Davos 2024. The MoUs are -  1) Joint Declaration: Sustainable urban development: integrated waste management, climate resilience and circular economy in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, India with Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Government of Netherlands 2) MoU: River Protection and Improvement, Flood Protection, Environmental Upgradation, Climate Resilience, and Climate Change Adaptation in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, India with River Recycle, Finland  3) MoU: Development of Smart City/Growth Centre led by a tech-oriented system through the Smart City Master Planning and TechSandbox in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, India with World Smart City Forum, United Kingdom  4) MoU: Development of Smart City/Growth Centre led by the Internet of Things (IoT) and AI technology in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, India Samsung C&T, South Korea. Our commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure took a significant leap forward as Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, held a strategic meeting with Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumbhare, and project engineers. This collaboration resulted in the approval of 17 crucial permissions for nine major projects, including the Sewri Worli Connector, Metro Line 2B, Metro Line 6, and the Missing Link Flyover. These long-pending permissions were granted In just one meeting. Mr. Kumbhare agreed to provide all outstanding traffic-related permissions. These efforts have removed significant roadblocks, enabling the timely execution of these essential projects. We’re excited to announce the opening of a new signal-free road connecting the SEBI Building to Avenue-5, passing under the BKC connector and Avenue-3 (WeWork). This 180-meter missing link, completed in just 3.5 months, This six-lane corridor ensures seamless travel from the Eastern Express Highway (EEH) to BKC in just 15 minutes!, three lanes are now open for traffic, and the remaining three will open soon. By easing congestion at the BKC One Junction and BKC Connector Junction, it optimizes traffic flow and enhances access to key landmarks such as the MCA Club, NSE, consulates, and Avenue-5. The road opening was graced by the presence of Joint MMRDA Commissioner Radhabinod Sharma, IAS, and Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumbhare. मुंबई मेट्रोचे लाईन-4 च्या बांधकाम दरम्यानचा आणखी एक माईलस्टोन! 14 डिसेंबर 2024 रोजी मध्यरात्री 11 वाजल्यापासून दुसऱ्या दिवशी सकाळी 7 वाजेपर्यंत कापूरबावडी इंटरचेंज स्टेशनच्या सेंट्रल ग्रीडचे (जी5-जी6) पहिले 4 यू-गर्डर्स (प्रत्येकी सुमारे 100 टन वजनाचे) यशस्वीरित्या उभारण्यात आले. तत्वज्ञान विद्यापीठ जंक्शनवरील या स्थानकाची दुहेरी-रुंदीची रचना असून, जी मोठ्या प्रवासी संख्येला नियंत्रित करण्यास मदत करेल व मेट्रो मार्ग-4 आणि 5 एकत्रित जोडण्याचे काम देखील करेल. घोडबंदर रोडवरील गुंतागुंतीची बांधकामे व अवजड वाहतूक योग्यरित्या हाताळून डी. सी. पी. वाहतूक ठाणे शहर यांच्या सहकार्याने हे काम 8 तासांत पूर्ण करण्यात आले. A major milestone has been achieved at Kapurbawadi Station of Mumbai Metro Line 4 Wadala to kasarvadavali! The first 4 U-girders {each weighing about 100 tonnes) of Kapurbawadi Interchange Station’s central grid (G5-G6) were successfully erected on 14th Dec 2024 from midnight 11 PM to the next day morning 7 AM. This station, at Tatvagyan Vidyapith Junction, is a 4-track station where metro lines 4 and 5 merge and hence station width is double (about 40 m), designed to cater to heavy passenger loads. Despite the complexity of construction and heavy traffic on Ghodbunder Road, the task was completed in 8 hours under the support of DCP Traffic Thane.
